In May 2019 a federal
judge denied amparo for Jaime Gonzales Duran aka El Hummer therebyn supporting
extradition to the U.S.
Gonzales then filed an appeal,
which was accepted by the court.
On Friday a judge of the
Amparo District in Criminal Matters, based in Mexico gave the green light to deliver
Gonzales.
Gonzales is one of the
founding members of Los Zetas cartel and considered one of the most violent
members of the cartel. He was a member
of the Mexican Special Forces known as GAFE.
He was one of 40 Special Forces that defected and joined CDG under the
leadership of Osiel Cardenas, later becoming Los Zetas.
In the U.S. he is
accused of conspiracy and distribution of cocaine, also money laundering and other
changes.
The judge ruled that
the SRE complied with the requirements established in the extradition agreement
signed by Mexico and The United States.

ReplyDeleteI think the reason for that is Mexico gets some financial incentives for participating in the ‘war on drugs’. The crimes were committed in Mexico so they shouldn’t extradited to US, particularly when it only makes the groups more volatile from capos being captured and in-fighting begins

Deletethe reason why they get extradited is because their drugs make it to the us therefore they are breaking us laws aswell, under RICO, it is considered that the organizations these guys run are transnational, they have presence in both countries, operate and are established in both countries, so whatever they do in mexico affects them here, so its fair game, whatever they do in mexico they can pay it here.

Extradiction is always mentioned with cartel cases because theyre cartel bosses, and extraditions have crippled cartels, violence only increases, but in reality the majority of extraditions of mexican citizens are just people that are wanted in the US and fled to Mexico, now imagine mexico mexico refusing to extradite, all criminals will make a run to Mexico, how would you feel if someone kills a loved one and makes a run, now hes in Mexico free living life because Mexico will not arrest him and extradite him
