When
will Narcos: Mexico season 2 arrive on Netflix?
The series will be
released in its entirety on Thursday 13th February 2020.
Along with the date
announcement, Netflix provided a short teaser, which features lead actor Diego
Luna (Rogue One) turning towards the camera, while he speaks in a menacing
voiceover.

The series follows the
establishment of the modern Mexican drugs trade, focusing on real-life narco
Felix Gallardo, a former Sinaloan police officer turned drug lord, and Kiki Camarena,
a Mexican-American DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) agent tasked with
taking Felix down.
The season followed the
two men’s cat and mouse game, which ended in the abduction, torture and murder
of Kiki, whose death ultimately served as a catalyst in the war on drugs.
The finale also finally
revealed the identity of the show’s narrator: Scoot McNairy as agent Walt
Breslin, a DEA agent in charge of Operation Layenda, a task force that worked
to bring to justice those responsible for Kiki’s death — and the focus of
Narcos: Mexico season two.
“What happened in
Guadalajara in the early ’80s was the beginning,” Breslin says in voiceover.
“What happened in Guadalajara gave birth to the first cartel. From that, others
would follow. And the violence and money and drugs, they just fucking explode.
It changed the DEA, too. Maybe it woke us up, I don’t know. But it’s where the
first shot was fired, the one that started the drug war. And after that, none
of it would be the same. How could it be?
“We knew we were in a
war,” he says at the end of the episode. “Now, it was our turn. Pretty soon,
they were gonna know, they were in one too.”
Who
will star in Narcos: Mexico season 2?
Scoot McNairy (Argo, 12
Years A Slaves) stars as agent Walt Breslin, a DEA agent brought in following
the death of Kiki Camarena. McNairy was the mystery narrator for the entirety
of season one, before his identity was revealed at the end of the finale.
Diego Luna, best-known
for his role as Cassian Andor in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, plays the narco
kingpin Felix Gallardo. Also starring are Tenoch Huerta (Get the Gringo) as
Rafael Cara Quintero, newcomer Teresa Ruiz as Felix’s girlfriend Isabella
Bautista, and Alejandro Edda (American Made, Fear the Walking Dead) as Joaquin
“El Chapo” Guzman, a protégé of Felix’s who would go on to become the head of
the Sinaloa Cartel.
Is
there a trailer for Narcos: Mexico season 2?
Not yet, just an
announcement confirming a second season. We’ll keep you posted, but for now

when are they gonna show real NARCOS? aka poppie farmers and the production of opium and black tar/mexican dope? Also Gulf Cartel and los zetas history when? i'm sick and tired of Snitchloa cartel and chaputo taking all the spot..

DeleteSinaloa is most relevant ... gulf/zetas are more like criminal groups that capitalize on crimes that have nothing to do with drug trafficking ... they’re small potatoes compare to the AFO the Carrillos and the Sinaloa.

Zetas in their prime were bigger than sinaloa and current cjng. so many cartels formed alliances to fight the zetas, even the government assisted sinaloa cartel against the zetas and still couldnt beat them. what brought the zetas down was the civil war amongst themselves.

DeleteNetflix is all about fantasies and a lot of BS, drug trafficking always existed, but the DFS was ramping it up since the late 60s along with socialism and communism classes in schools, by the 80s drug trafficking was well established and had financed the arrival and return of republicans to the US presidency, their drug trafficking was discovered and exhibited for all the world to see with their crimes against Camarena, the Guadalajara Cartel had already been working for about 15 years by the time Camarena arrived in the times of De La Madrid and his puchacacas secretary of programming and budget Carlos Salinas de Gortari, already cooking shit for his own presidential run.
Netflix lite sucks and cooks their own lite facts.
The whole series is pretty cool. Im sure its not perfect but its close. I have enjoyed all of them.

DeleteI liked the Chapo series on Netflix the best...some of the shootouts were awful but overall it was amazing. Narcos is great too though.
ReplyDelete@11:13 I agree, if the Chapo series had better shootout / violence scenes in a realistic approach, it would have been a perfect series. The only one so far that has shown Salinas as the real Capo Di Cappi.
DeleteUntil they killed Kiki Camarena there was almost no violence, except for official government violence against students, directed by the CIA though their SOA graduated mexican military and Olympic Mexican military and white brigade paramilitary, the narcos were doing just business except for a capo or two they took down like Pedro Avilés.

ReplyDelete5:55 Zetas had government and military and had infiltrated the federal police, one of which was Z1, Mexican Army Lieutenant Arturo Guzman Decena a former GAFE trained in anti-insurgency with the SOA Kaibiles from Guatemala, THEIR PRESIDENT, GENERAL EFRAIN RIOS MONTT and their general otto Perez molina also graduated SOA, like his colleagues, and they brought the Kaibil violence along to Mexico, the rest is vulgar history.

DeleteIf there's 10 episodes again it will likely start off showing Gallardo's/carrilo's arrests and then the division of their territory to the main characters from last season. They introduced the figures to come well, so going straight into the new era of the AFO, juarez, sinaloa and then carillo working with the government to keep the peace, id say it will end with Chapo's first arrest and then another season documenting the rest of the 90s and then chapo's escape in 2001 to finish that season off.
ReplyDeleteIf narcos originally ran for 3 seasons and now they introduced mexico for another 2 season, they are definitely willing to run the show for 4 or 5 more seasons but they need to make it more frequent, waiting a year for the show is so long,, it will be 2022-2023 before we get to current events
The Guadalajara Cartel did not split any territory, it was confiscated by the police and military and DFS and split for their benefit in cahoots with the federal government.

awesome series, great actors seems like netflix set the budget pretty high up there for this show the only weak performances that don't really fit their character is the guy playing kiki camarena and ivan guzman
