An armed commando
murdered a 5-year-old boy, his 18-year-old sister and left another 15-year-old
brother dying in the municipality of Huimanguillo, Tabasco.
The massacre occurred
on Thursday morning, although the news transcended Friday afternoon and was
confirmed by local authorities at night.
According to the first
investigations and testimonies of neighbors, gunmen stormed a house in the
Gilberto Flores Muñoz neighborhood, in Huimanguillo, in search of a young man
allegedly involved in drug trafficking.
When they did not find
him, they beat a woman and tortured and murdered her 5-year-old son Moses, whom
they left tied.
They then took the daughter Marisol, 18, and the other
son, Jesús Ramón, 15.
Hours later, the girl
was found dead, half-naked and bagged near the train track of the Villa
Estación Chontalpa.
Near her, inside a
pool, her brother Jesús Ramón was found seriously injured.
Until noon this
Saturday, no authority had officially reported this crime.
Huimanguillo, adjacent
to Veracruz, as well as the municipalities of Centro (capital of this capital)
and Cárdenas, are the three most violent municipalities in the state.

As a U.S. citizen reading about this and SO many other similar stories about the violence perpetrated upon Mexican citizens I am outraged - human lives are human lives and they ALL matter regardless of where they are found or what side of a line or border they live on. I am sick of seeing these stories and I can only imagine how those who are in Mexico and actually experiencing this and not just reading about it must feel. This should be all over the news in Mexico - the Mexican media outlets should be covering this non-stop the way American media outlets did back when the Mexican-American Mormons were killed. I hope and pray the Mexican people unite to demand justice and accountability for these types of acts and hope they demand these events get the widespread coverage they deserve among the press until the public pressure becomes too great for those in authority not to act.
