They are children
between 6 and 15 years old who should be occupying their day between school and
play, but instead of taking a notebook and pencil to study or a ball to play,
these children carry rifles and sticks.
The violence in
Guerrero and the absence of a State that should protect them, led them to defend themselves. They live in
Chilapa de Álvarez where there is only preschool and primary school. If they
want to go to high school they have to move to the neighboring municipality of
José Joaquín de Herrera, held by Los Ardillos, responsible for kidnappings,
extortion and executions.
Bernardino Sánchez
Luna, one of the leaders of the Regional Coordinator of Community Authorities
of the Founding Peoples (CRAC-PF), warned that Los Ardillos threatened to enter
their communities this week to slaughter the villagers.
Therefore, he says, he
will continue to train adults, boys and girls in the use of weapons: "My
indigenous partners are at risk of being massacred, who does not know how to
use a weapon will not defend itself."
Mexico City, January 28
(SinEmbargo). - In May 2019, a group of children armed with sticks appeared in
a video conducting training to combat Los Ardillos . It had been four months
since that criminal group attacked their community, located in Chilapa de
Álvarez (Guerrero), leaving 12 dead.
The state government
promised them patrols and instead another attack came. They got tired of
waiting for help and now a new recording has gone around the world this 2020:
17 children with rifles and face covers are preparing to defend, together with
adults, their people.
Children between 6 and
15 years old come from the communities of Alcozacán, Xochitempa, Ayahualtempa
and Rincón de Chautla, in the municipality of Chilapa de Álvarez, those who are
already in training and at least 10 girls have shown interest in joining.
They are minors who
live in villages where there is only preschool and primary school. If they want
to study high school they have to move to the neighboring municipality of José
Joaquín de Herrera, held by Los Ardillos.
“The girls and boys
tell us: 'If we cannot continue in school, we have to prepare ourselves to
defend ourselves,' 'said Bernardino Sánchez Luna, one of the leaders of the
Regional Coordinator of Community Authorities of the Founder Peoples, in an
interview. CRAC-PF) in Guerrero.
Guerrero is one of the
poorest and most violent states in Mexico. According to figures from the
Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, Mexico recorded
34,582 murders in 2019 and 1,875 of these homicides took place in Guerrero. In
the educational field, the entity governed by Héctor Astudillo Flores faces a
lag: the average level of schooling of the population aged 15 and over is 7.8,
which is equivalent to just over the first year of high school, according to
figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).
Sánchez Luna said that
Los Ardillos are threatening the communities of Ayahualtempa, Tula and Rincon
de Chalco that they are going to take their villages and slaughter their
inhabitants. "The Government of the state of Guerrero promised to put the
National Guard, but has not done so. There are only municipal police, but they
are with Los Ardillos," he said.
In Guerrero, three
major cartels operate - Knights Templar, Jalisco New Generation Cartel and the
Beltrán Leyva - and 19 smaller cells and cartels, including Los Ardillos,

I regret it has come to kids being trained on real guns and rifles. Obrador and his clown secretary of security Durazno, have done minimal to lower last year's high homicide rate, now kids are defending thier town's of terrorist cartels.
ReplyDelete11:20 are you covering up the governor's deficiencies when it comes to public security?
DeleteAstudillo of PRD party was put in the governor position by EPN and PRI To cover his ass after they disappeared the Ayotzinapos before AMLO was president, the federales involved disappeared 43 AND killed 7 too.
Dumb asses always gave to try and be too smart.
Trump? Obrador? What you talking about Willis.
ReplyDeleteHow is it bad to defend your town from criminal.?
ReplyDeleteOh yeah. Where is the ICC and Un to critize the Mexican government for failing rights and securities for its people. Useless mofos.
ReplyDeleteThe Human Rights commission of Mexico only gets involved when cartels give them bribes.
DeleteYou guys expect AMLO to fix everything in one year? Give education to most of Mexico? By the sound of your comments seems like you as kids also didn't receive any education so it's far from AMLO's problem...poor education has always been an issue in Mexico. Since way before AMLO. Onw year of m office and you expect him to solve problems that took years, decades to accumulate in just one year.
ReplyDeleteAMLO has failed the people of Guerrero & Mexico in general.
ReplyDeleteY el pendejo de obrador dedicando poemas y abrazos🖕
ReplyDeleteSingle-shot shotguns against automatic weapons may God help them
ReplyDeleteThis is a good example of people in Mexico who happen to be indigenous needing to arm themselves because they get no help from the government when it’s needed. Teach those kids to shoot and respect the use of guns at an early age.
ReplyDeleteThen arm them as adults because their governor and the police are corrupt and will continue to allow the slaughter of these people. Dam they can’t even get a high school education.
. They literally do need more than a squirrel Gun to kill these gangster squirrels. Give them AKs and some old SKS rifles or something....

I think trump was in charge he kill the Cartel. In Mexico the Amlo wants get them to reform. It not working they growing by the hour. President Amlo ur idea, but these are Criminals, they charge. Good luck my former citizen I move to Mcallen.
ReplyDeleteThe Mexican government is the cartel. The American people want drugs. The cartel wants firearms, the USA produces firearms at factories day and night. I dont see a way to fix this..I honestly would donate $100 every paycheck to arm the kids with proper weapons to given them a fighting chance..."drug addict American "
ReplyDeleteYou think Mexicans don't do drugs? Or is it Americans pay more?

DeleteBogus well used comment,Mexicans were just caught in Japan of all places with kilos of coke? You want to blame Japan for that?Get real some time
4:50 bet your ass, the cocaine originated with american owned-influenced suppliers, burros need saving too.
DeleteWinston Churchill said these words " If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.
ReplyDeleteThe Mexican people need to rise up and defend themselves if the state won't. There are more good people and bad people. Have you seen ants attack a larger more formidable opponent? The opponent dies from a thousand cuts.
Are you fucking kidding me the biggest problem I had when I was that age was choosing if I was gonna get some hot fries or a star crunch with the money mom's gave me. We weren't anywhere close to rich but compared to these poor kids we lived like Kings. One day we all will have to pay for our sins of doing nothing to help stop this madness .
ReplyDeletethis group has opened it up for children to be other wise murdered just because of the ignorance of adults. when your compadres, tio's,hermanos became narcos and money flowed, your happiness was only temporary. Now we are at the gates of hell having our children holding sticks and rocks because as adults we cant take care of our problems. the person who commented on Trump would take care of this? just as he has taken care of the American issues at hand? lets stop protecting those family members who are involved pendejos.
ReplyDelete6:29 AMLI recognizes the independence of Mexico's 3 different branches of government, legislative, executive and judicial powers, and he does not corrupt any of them, instead tries to eliminate corruption in them and through
ReplyDeleteOn the US, the quest for power and impunity among corrupt politicians has brought alliances with foreign wholly corrupt people and wholesale corruption of US politics, "absolute power corrupts, absolutely"
