Threatens to bomb the newspaper offices, if Reforma doesn't comply
The newspaper Reforma released
the audio of a call received at its offices, in which a subject warns that, if
they continue publishing notes "defamatory" in against AMLO, there
will be consequences, even they are threatening to bomb their offices.
In the audio, the person who
made the threat at first identifies himself as a federal deputy, moments later he warns that the newspaper, "has already crossed the line" in
its criticism of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Then he says he is a
"spokesman for the Sinaloa Cartel" pointing out that they are upset
by the video published by Reforma on May 13, which describes how AMLO minimized
the coronavirus pandemic, and only later realized that the disease is serious.

"From 'nothing happens' ... to the emergency.""Your company uploaded a video denigrating, almost mocking the President of the Republic (...) what they are doing has already crossed the line (...) Tell [the editor in chief] that you are not slandering the president, that you are not betraying the homeland, because if not, we will blow up the offices of your fucking newspaper. The entire Sinaloa Cartel is with López Obrador.”
According to Reforma, the call
was received yesterday, May 13 at 8:42 am, at their offices, and it would have
been made from a phone located in Mexicali, Baja California.
