Marcos Alberto Corona Baltazar,
temporary director of the Puente Grande de Jalisco Federal Prison, lost his
life after being gunned down.
The assault occurred on the El
Salto Highway via Agua Blanca and Zapotlanejo, in the Paseo Puente
Viejo neighborhood in Tonalá.
The official
was a temporary fill in for prison director Salvador Almonte Solís, as he recovers from COVID-19.
Witnesses to the assault heard
several shots fired, and minutes later the attackers fled.
According to eyewitness accounts,
the man was followed by groups from other vehicles, who fired shots at him.
Once the victim was forced off the street, the gunmen descended from their
units to riddle him on both sides of the car.
He would not accept bribes to free prisoners, so he was offered Plata o plumo.

ReplyDeleteI love how precise and descriptive the Mexican language is...” At the crime scene at least 17 casings percussed by firearms of various calibers were located.”
