Eight months after the failed operation in Culiacán, President AMLO said he was the one who ordered the release of Ovidio Guzmán . This version is different from what the secretary, Alfonso Durazo, said during his appearance in the Senate, under sworn testimony.
Last October the world witnessed an embarrassing, stunning, situation unfold in Culiacán Sinaloa Mexico.
First reports came in that the
son of imprisoned “El Chapo”, Ovidio Guzman, had been arrested in Culiacán
without incident.
Hundreds of vehicles of armed men
from the Sinaloa Cartel flooded the city after the capture. The enforcers caused terror and havoc in the
city. The siege of torched vehicles,
roadblocks and shootings, continued for hours, overwhelming security forces.
The coordination by Sinaloa was
an effort to have Ovidio freed, it was successfully executed as the melee ended
with the release of Ovidio.
AMLO had
said at the time and thereafter, that it was the security cabinet of his administration
that made the decision, not him. Adding,
it was to protect citizens from being harmed in the crossfire. Although there was not much of a doubt.
On Friday the president openly admitted
it was he who gave the order to release Ovidio.
He said, “To avoid putting the population at risk, I ordered the security operation be stopped and that this
alleged criminal be released,” Lopez Obrador said at his regular news
conference.
AMLO also stated that U.S.
President Donald Trump called him a few days after the incident, offering help with
the cartel, but that he refused the offer.
Then in
March 2020, AMLO found himself in another sticky situation when he was in the outskirts
of Badiraguato, when the mother of El Chapo drove up on a dirt road to see the
president. The two greeted each other
warmly, with AMLO telling the woman that he had received her letter.
Apparently,
the letter was one in which she asked for the help of the president with a
humanitarian visa, so that she may visit her son in the U.S. prison.
Chapo is incarcerated
for life in Colorado Florence Super-Max Prison.

DeleteI highly doubt ovidio has a tik tok account. Even Ivan’s twitter has been proven to be fake. Also, the cartels clone vehicles to look like cop or military it’s not new and definitely won’t be the last time a capo does it.

ReplyDeleteRead in one of the national papers... maybe the chutes and ladders column el universal runs that... the leak of the operation was due to an over excited sedena employee bragging internally before they really secured him... it’s plausible this is true, even though most probably assume it was a mole. Again this was printed in the Mexican majors by one of those “insider” columnists

siempre lo ha dicho , que era preferible dejar ir a ese delincuente que provocar una masacre como ya estaba dispuesta , pues rodearon la unidad habitacional militar y muchas mujeres pedian auxilio al ver gente armada esto fue reportado a los encargados de la operacion y se consulto al presidente quien decidio correctamente.

The president of the republic does, and in this case apparently followed the security cabinets advice after requests from the officers in charge of the operation. Touting this as some sort of revelation only cements your reputation as a politically biased (tainted) source of information, regrettably.
