Reports of El Mencho being dead is beginning to make its rounds on social media and on mainstream news outlets, as we are, reporting on the story. There are three mainstream accounts of the same story.
The story seems to have begun by journalist Hector de Mauleon, who says there are two possibilities; one he was shot and killed in the north, the other that he died of illness. I remember the false story of his death in March, initiating in European press, 'Notiamérica', that reported his death by gunshots. They changed the cause to be that of illness.

It was a surprising story since the news outlet is reputable.
As for today’s death report, as of yet, there is no official confirmation of the alleged death of " El Mencho " supreme leader of Cartel Jalisco New Generation CJNG.
Army and National Guard are on "alert", said De Mauleón.
El Debate reports the death of "El Mencho" is due to health problems, including Coronavirus. This rumor was around before.
Debate reports further: “When questioning the authorities of the Public Security and Prosecutor's Office of Jalisco on the same subject, they said they were aware of the strong rumors circulating in networks but clarified that so far there is no confirmed information on the fact. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health said that it had no report of the death of the drug trafficker by COVID-19.
It would seem that all hell would be breaking loose in Jalisco if the rumor was true, and so far, it isn’t.

DeleteYes thats what happened. I checked thwice it was there, but in the body of the text it did not reference a death at all. it was in the personal info box ujpper right, date of birth etc.

DeleteIf he is dead there will be certain inevitable repercusions within Jalisco. Those repercussions are inevitable and they are not reversible. Pulling off a credible false death is not to the person's advantage. But to me this just does not add up. Where re the movers and shakers? The consolidators?
ReplyDeletehopefully he isnt, not that I care about him, but lets be realistic, even if CJNG is responsible for alot of horrible things, the death of Mencho would make things worse. CJNG is currently the largest cartel and it seems like there isnt anyone who would have a smooth transfer of leadership. my best guess wouldve been 8-5 but its its hes he longer part of cjng. Maybe there are many of the family who we havent heard of who would take control who knows. My best bet is that CJNG would split alot, like always, either the new boss will try cleaning house causing many splinter cells or all cells will just go at it trying to be the one taking control. all the other out of state cells in veracruz, baja, guerrero, cd de mexico, seeing how shit hits the fan in Jalisco and no support coming in will become independent and/or join another cartel if they dont start forming their own cartels.

DeleteI agree, he needs to go down, the cartel needs to be taken down, well all cartels in general but we all know that cant happen overnight. What im trying to say is that if Mencho wouldve died, things would get worse before they get better, some cells may challenge the new leadership as it happens in every cartel, the violence that follows the absence of a main boss is inevitable. If there is no definite next in line for leadership, no heir of the cartel then that violence will get even worse of all the plaza bosses trying to fill the void, not to mention all other outside groups that will try to enter and establish their presence. So the only reason why I said hopefully he didnt die is because despite his horrible zeta like tactics everywhere else there is a balance in the state of Jalisco that if unbalanced the violence would be way worse than it currently is, Jalisco would be on the top most dangerous since all its cells would go at it, and the states where there are cells present will also see violence go up as other groups will challenge these cells since they no longer would be receiving support and protection from jalisco and their power will diminish to the point where theybwill have to fight till the end, and if they survice they would most likely join another cartel. its how it always happens. it happened in Sinaloa after chapo, you had damaso challenge ivan, luckily mayo keeps order, but you have mayo and ivans cells fighting in other areas, and if mayo was to die i guarantee sinaloa would also turn extremely violent with everyone including los chapitos trying to take over what mayo leaves even los mazatlecos would make their move. and im sure the violence would be mostly over mayos people refusing to respond to chapitos, they might be willing to work with them but not for them.

It was initiated by a very respected award winning journalist. He was given bogus info from usually solid sources. We rely on sources, and no matter how sure you are about those sources they can be incorrect.
DeleteHowever, if you would have asked if I thought it was true as they asked me on social media, I would have said after a couple of hours, "NAH...because the story was missing the jounalistic W's and never grew." It evolved into the story about the story. He has died three times in a few months. last time the story was also from a famous journalist.
I updated the story every couple hours. from the authorities both federal and state. and anything I could find. I worked very hard trying to bring the latest. If you can't appreciate our work i suggest you go elsewhere, as we are not oing to change our method of reporting.
The truth is we actually do not know if he is alive...from death 1..death 2 or death 3. he has not sent any type of message. so this could be his making. ala nazario, or azul.
