Nephew of Caro Quintero dies after confrontation in Culiacán

In a confrontation that occurred this Sunday morning at the Tres Ríos Urban Development in the city of Culiacán, Santiago Eduardo P, 26, the nephew of the drug trafficker Caro Quintero, was reportedly seriously injured when he was hit by bullets. after a confrontation that arose when he was aboard his Jeep Rubicon that was abandoned on the boulevard Enrique Sánchez Alonso.

Santiago Eduardo died when he was kept in a private clinic after the attack.  The report of the death was at 11:15 am this Sunday.

According to the data provided by the Investigative Police this early Sunday, a series of shootings broke out in this municipality, apparently it all started in a private room known as La Joya, behind the Montecarlo residential, where there was a party.

It was reported that the body had bullet wounds in the chest, and he was admitted to the emergency department by individuals who took him to receive medical attention.

This young man would be related to Genaro Payán Aros or Genaro Rubén Payan Quintero, alias “El Gringo” or “El Ingeniero”, who on June 24, 2015, was detained along with at least three active elements of the Sinaloa State Police, who provided security.

The arrest was made by elements of the Mexican Navy, on a ranch located in Mocorito.

On that date, he was identified as Genaro Payán Aros or Genaro Rubén Payan Quintero, alias “El Gringo” or “El Ingeniero”, who works under the orders of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada.

The Navy detained him when he was leaving a ranch on his property known as El Comanito in Mocorito, where he was guarded by the three policemen in question.

It is known that “El Gringo” or “El Ingeniero” has had an extradition request from the United States since 1993.
