The attorney general’s office
[FGR] has announced the sentencing of Santiago Mazari Miranda, also known as
“Carrete”, “El 8” or “El Señor de Los Caballos”, who is leader of the criminal group “Los Rojos”.
"Los Rojos" home base
is the state of Morelos, where they distributed cocaine for national consumption.
His 20-year sentence will be served
in Federal Prison No. 2 “Puente Grande” in the state of Jalisco.
Far too little time for the numerous torture murders this guy authorized. Carrete and Los Rojos were massacring little towns in the sierra. Not a surprise that the pueblo turned on him and allowed Don Necho and Los Tlacos to hunt Los Rojos without interference. Honestly, Carrete is lucky that he was arrested otherwise he would have ended up dead like Teniente.

ReplyDeleteHow can he be sentenced so quickly? He was only captured months ago? How is this done while others such as Luis Arellano Sánchez, Vicente Carrillo Fuentes, etc are still toiling around in pretrial hearings?
ReplyDeleteIf you have lots of money you can slow down the judicial process. That way, when you get to trial, you are more likely to get a positive outcome because evidence gets old and misplaced, witnesses lose some of their recollection or are unavailable to testify, etc. Once you are sentenced for some lesser offense, you have already banked enough in-custody time to be out very quickly.

Carrete suffered the same fate as Marro, 2 semi established drug trafficking leaders that made too much noise and showed up on the radar of the bigger orgs

Yea they do. Look up Topo Chico prison in Monterrey. Zetas had big control over the prison and luxuries. Some prisons they let the prisoners out at midnight to kill someone on the streets and come back inside.

Deleteand Wardens give a break to select prisoners mostly on orders from above, like Stateville in Joliet Il, where Larry Hoover was the Boss helping elect republican governors through the families of his imprisoned inmates.
