Michoacan: Police stop a vehicle in Zitacuaro and discover a rare white tiger cub

Morelia, Mich.- Police from the State Roads Division of the Ministry of Public Security rescued a white tiger cub and detained four men who were taking him in a car without registration, during an operation in the municipality of Zitacuaro.

The police were conducting surveillance and inspection on the Maravatío-Morelia highway, where they detected a car without license plates and stopped it.

This unit did not have documents to pass through and inside the officers discovered that the occupants were bringing a white tiger cub, of which they didn't have documents verifying its legal origin, possession, or transport.

The defendants said their names were Alejandro C., 20 years old; Juan Pablo S., 19 years old, and Rafael Abraham G., 32 years old, from and residents of the State of Mexico, as well as Emilio N., a resident of the state of Guerrero. 

White tigers are the result of mutation is so rare that it is estimated that only one in every 10,000 tigers born in the wild is white. It is estimated only 200 white tigers in the world.

  7. In fact there are legal breeders and those are more common than we think.... Yes, in wild isnt common and they barely survive, since they are commonly rejected and unable to breed. Breeders have it easier and albino tigers are quite common in captivity.
