Video: RCQ Sends Floral Wreath to Funeral of “El Mono” While his Body was Stolen in Sinaloa

Rafael Caro Quintero, currently a fugitive from justice, sent a wreath of flowers to the funeral of Armando López, who was murdered last Thursday.

On Thursday, August 27, a commando attacked four individuals who were traveling in a Chevrolet Spark vehicle on Álvaro Obregón Avenue between Artesanos y Abogados in front of Agustina Ramírez Elementary School in this city, Culiacán, Sinaloa.  Three died and one more was injured.

One of the deceased was Óscar Armando López Uriarte, "El Mono", originally from Badiraguato. His family watched over him at the San Martín funeral home, in the Montebello subdivision of this city, to where a crown, ie wreath of flowers,  was sent in the name of drug trafficker Rafael Caro Quintero, currently a fugitive from justice.

The image of the expensive crown of red roses with the name of the capo, was spread on social networks.

Caro Quintero, a founder of the Sinaloa Cartel, currently a most wanted fugitive from justice, said goodbye at a private funeral one of his alleged collaborators identified as Óscar Armando López Uriarte, alias "El Mono". Lopez Uriarte, according to unofficial sources, worked for Rafael Caro Quintero.
Rafael Caro Quintero, the “Narco de narcos”, the man whose return to hiding has put the Mexican and American authorities on the warpath, sent a wreath of flowers to the funeral of Óscar Armando López Uriarte, “El Mono” who was shot dead last Thursday and his body was stolen in Culiacán.

According to the reports, on Saturday, August 29, around 2:00 p.m., ''El Mono's" family was preparing to bury him; However, while the funeral procession was going to the cemetery, it was intercepted by an armed group, which stole the body and took it to a ranch in the mountainous region near Badiraguato, Sinaloa, where López Uriarte was originally from.

A private burial was held at the site and later he was buried in the middle of a procession made up of armed men, who fired in the air with multiple detonations of firearms.

There, according to various videos, another wake was held. Later, the wooden coffin where the body was deposited was placed in a vehicle to be transferred to the cemetery. Dozens of people came to see him off, while band music is being played and people shot high-caliber weapons into the air.

According to the local weekly Río Doce , the theft of the body was led by "Los  Chapitos" , sons of Joaquín,  “El Chapo” Guzmán , to watch over him in private.

The founder of the Sinaloa Cartel remains the DEA's primary target . For his capture he offers USD 20 million. "Caro Quintero is the new leader of the Sinaloa Cartel and is wanted for his probable participation in the murder of the special agent of the DEA Enrique Camarena Salazar in 1985 and has been included in the list of the Ten Most Wanted Fugitives of the FBI ", explains a statement from the Drug Enforcement Agency.

The murder of DEA agent “Kiki” Camarena in 1985 landed the Mexican kingpin in jail. The Mexican justice sentenced him to 40 years, but in 2013, when he still had 12 years to go, he managed to get a Jalisco court to release him due to a formal defect in the sentence. When the suspicious sentence was invalidated, Caro Quintero was already in hiding.

Since then, his departure has not escaped the eyes of the DEA, who launched a gigantic operation inside and outside the law to catch the culprits.
According to people from the Badiraguato mountain range, Sinaloa, Caro Quintero remains hidden in some hut lost among the intricacies of the Golden Triangle, living in the height of the bush and with a thousand escape routes , because his main fear is that the government will grab him and extradite him to United States.

On more than two occasions, "El Narco de Narcos" has claimed the illegality of his extradition to the United States to be tried on eight criminal charges , including the murder of the DEA agent. However, since 2015, the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation has presented amparos, denying it  with precautionary measures.

  1. i’m really confused here. I thought Mayo, and Chapitos lead the Sinaloa cartel, and that RCQ was operating secretly while out from jail. When / how did he become a fugitive, and since when did he take over the cartel? I feel like I missed out on a lot.

    1. He’s been a fugitive since he was released from a Mexican prison around 2013 or so. He’s wanted by the DEA.

  10. Looks like it was a response to the murder of Caro's nephew like a message to the people who killed his nephew. I killed one of yours because you killed one of mine. Best way to send a message. It could have been a ploy that is also a possibility.

  12. So he worked for Caro but the chapitos atole his body not to be disrespected but to be mourned in private? Seems somewhat confusing. Aren’t chapos and caros at war? And if they are not then who killed mono?

  13. RCQ traded Chapo for his freedom! If you give the yanks Chapo we will set you free - that was the deal RCQ was able to negotiate.

The Chapitos are allowed to stay on if they stay low and follow Mayo's and RCQ's lead.

  14. RCQ is drawing up too much attention. The CIA will find him sooner if he keeps himself in the spotlight.

    1. Actually, it’s not new. They also used to crash at their enemies’ wakes/funerals and shoot at the corpses to humiliate them even more. My family is from Sinaloa, so I know it was kind of customary.

  20. That DEA agent was never taught as a kid to stay out of other peoples personal business. Probably a child of law enforcement parents. Super hero/robocops people that were never taught to mind their own business, even if mildly affects the world or you, Year after Years.. what people decide to do will never end. YOU can not stop it I repeat YOU can Not Stop it.

  22. Wait, I am confused, are Quintero and Los Chapitos allies or enemies?

  23. How did he work for RCQ if he is just now dead at 40 years old?

If RCQ was jailed in 1985, that would have meant Mono started working for him at 5 or less years old....

The one and only other option would mean that he “worked for RCQ” while RCQ was “locked up” in prison.

  28. RCQ "The New leader of the Sinaloa Cartel"?? And nobody here even noticed that? Very misleading information. I see other members are just as confused.

So..who buried the body on their turf?
Los Chapitos or did RCQ the New leader of C.D.S get the body back?
