Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat Reforma
At the request of the DEA for criminal conspiracy, money laundering and drug trafficking.
First hearing in Los Angeles at 2:30pm today
Once again it happened in the
United States.
This time it is General Salvador
Cienfuegos, head of the Defense Secretariat in Enrique Peña's administration, who
was arrested in the United States.
He is the highest official of the
Mexican Government, ever captured abroad.
Chief of the Army for the entire
term of Enrique Peña Nieto, General Cienfuegos was arrested, at the request of
the DEA, at the Los Angeles Airport, California, on charges of criminal
conspiracy, money laundering and drug trafficking.
The General was traveling with
his family, the family members names were not disclosed but were released.
Tlatlaya, 22 people were executed in June 2014 by the military. |
Cienfuegos, 72, was a key piece
in Peña Nieto's security strategy, which tried to distinguish itself from that
of his predecessor, Felipe Calderón, with the decrease in confrontations and
with the presumption that they privileged intelligence operations over those of
force.
With Cienfuegos in command, drug
lords such as the brothers Miguel and Omar Treviño, leaders of Los Zetas,
captured in 2013 and 2015, or Servando Gómez, "La Tuta", of the Michoacán
Family, captured in February 2015, were captured.
In 2013, armed self-defense
groups flourished in the Tierra Caliente region, in Michoacán, which allegedly
rose up against drug cartels and were sponsored by military forces.
During Peña's administration, the
country's most important drug lord, head of the Sinaloa Cartel, Joaquín
"El Chapo" Guzmán, was captured in February 2014 in Mazatlán by DEA
troops and a special body of the Mexican Navy.
A year later, "El Chapo"
escaped from the high-security Altiplano prison to be captured in 2016 by
federal police.
In none of the actions against
"El Chapo" did the Army stand out. During the Cienfuegos
administration, the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) -now identified as
one of the largest generators of violence in the country- gained strength to
become the second most powerful drug trafficking organization in Mexico,
according to the latest annual report from the DEA.
Cienfuegos promoted the Internal
Security Law, to provide a legal framework for the actions of the armed forces
in matters of public security. Although in the first years of the Peña
administration, violence related to organized crime declined, in the second
half of his administration, homicides grew rapidly, reaching record levels in
the last 20 years.
The management of the former head
of the Sedena was marked by corruption. Only in the last year of the Peña Nieto
government, the ASF detected irregularities in 88 of 93 contracts for an amount
of 603 million pesos. Irregularities in purchases of espionage equipment,
weapons and military equipment were also pointed out.
The Cienfuegos Army was involved in serious human rights violations, such as the case of Tlatlaya, in Edomex, where 22 people were executed in June 2014 by the military.
Note:
While the DEA ordered the arrest,
it is unclear if this was a joint effort with Mexico.
Although the arrest is yet to be clear if it is connected to testimony in the Chapo trial, in the trial at least two witnesses testified about the collusion between high government officials such as Genaro Garcia Luna and organized crime, and the method of pay off payment to the high-level government officials, usually at the Mexico City airport in conjunction with the arrival of drugs.
In the end ..pena nieto wont get arrested or convicted....president Uribe of Colombia just got exonerated
ReplyDelete7:48 alvaro uribe vlez, alias "La Princesa del Uberrimo" IS NOT PRESIDENTE ANYMORE, if Ivan Duque is his puppet and the US their sponsor, and they collude on this temporary "exhoneration" it will not be forever...
DeleteU r very wrong buddy
DeleteAMLO isnt going to do shit to Pena Nieto. Everything he says is a lie. AMLO también tiene cola que le pisen.
Delete1:26 who is wrong?
DeleteMore important, WHY???
Bro. DEA wants him to flip on ex-President Nieto They’ll dangle a lighter sentence.
DeleteU.S. Justice about to put out a hundred fires.
ReplyDeleteComing up next. How Andres manuel lopez obrador is ruining the country. Homicides are getting higher. More people are joining the organized crime.
ReplyDeleteThat's how the Mexican media is going to put that since it's own by the pri and pan corporate.
Yeah they act like mexico was Sweden before Amlo came in.
Delete8:00 ruining your anonymous reputation of ill refuse for badmouthing AMLO without proof, just like other frustrated chayoteros.
DeleteBut it’s the truth tho. Obrador don’t give a fuk about what is happening to the Pueblo all he cares is taking good care of the Chapitos and make in’s sure nothing will happen to them.
Delete1040
DeleteLmao.that was cold bro
This shows curruption at high levels when Pena N. Was president.
ReplyDeleteAnd now it Shows the corruption Now as ALMO is President
DeleteWhen you have thousands leaving your country Something is WRONG
AlMO will get his
He has not changed shit
he dosent give a shit
His money is already in the Bank and he is feeding on his EGO Sick sick man
He is a disgrace Action is needed not his words and Blaming past people for his failures now
he is racking the money in
Raping the Good people of Mexico How bad he is when people are Fleeing your the country he runs
A plan would take a month
to alinate all Cartels with help from USA
100% he's going to Brooklyn, EDNY, he's probably named in a sealed indictment, maybe they had advance knowledge of travel plans, and declined to publicly charge him.
ReplyDeleteI checked pacer...nothing yet, probably after the hearing.
DeleteBTW i hate the new format on pacer, not user friendly at all
Apparently he worked with H2, Juan Patron Sanchez, which is yet another case that was filed in EDNY, the case connected to the AG or Nayarit who ordered H2's death
DeleteHe is serving 20 years after conviction in Brooklyn
Sera super facil para este general convertirse en testigo con su familia ,segura en U.S.A. un par de meses mientras se arreglan los detalles , recuerde este msj , Sra. CHIVIS .
DeleteMore than half of all government officials are on someone's payroll.
ReplyDeleteLet's just hope that Mexico will not interfere with the US investigation / prosecution.
Mexico's citizens should be ecstatic by this news. Questions remains if Mexico's laws will permit indictment of former government officials?
E42
8:06 mexican foreign service may try to interview and to help mexican prisoners in foreign countries, but mexican laws do not apply on foreign countries, cavalry general Humberto Mariles Cortéz (olympic gold medal equesteian) got arrested in France for drug trafficking and killed himself "before getting dishonored" in court, but he was no "Secretary of National Defense" Diplomado de Estado mayor Presidencial with a specialty on bean farming from the School of the Americas.
DeleteMexico just will NOT extradite anybody for any reason if there is a death penalty involved.
Is Peña going down?
ReplyDeleteLas tres letras van a calentar la plaza para distraer mientras se deciden con que lado del coupe de etat están. Atentos , se va a poner feo de los dos lados.
ReplyDeleteLas tres letras ? Which ones? PRI, PAN or PRD?
DeletePeña Nieto is next along with Calderon
ReplyDeleteYes, Chapo will get less time
DeleteDon’t forget Vicente Fox.
Delete8:18 😆
DeleteYOU are silly.. Those guys are UNTOUCHABLE..
I don’t know why people are complaining about Mexican government he is doing a great job taking out the trash little by little Mexico can’t be fixed in a year or 2 the cancer tentacles have to be cut. Great job by seizing bank accounts that’s where it really hurts those corrupt pieces of work.
ReplyDeleteHe can’t win the war on the streets without an Army, and he doesn’t have an Army because it belongs to the Narcos right now. He’s trying to clean house inside with the Generals, root out the traitors and corrupt ones, to salvage what he can of the security system.
DeleteOh Yes the trash can be taken out alot faster then you think stupidio
Deletehe will never ever do it
Why are you giving him creidt for this arrest ??
If I was a dirty Mexican politician I would frame my US visa and leave it like a piece of art on the wall. I would only stay in Mexico to avoid the long arm of US justice. Conspiracy charges are the real shit in the US and from there they get stack. In the US criminals and cops are water and oil in general (do not mix). A rat is a rat no matter the size. SDSO
ReplyDeleteThat’s a good idea. But what about traveling to Europe? If the US manages to get them on the Interpol’s notice they won’t be able to leave Mexico. Think about what happened to Chino Ántrax when he was arrested in the Netherlands.
DeleteHe was brought down by his hubris. Why would he travel to the US? Because even after the arrest of Garcia Luna, Cienfuegos didn’t think there was a chance of being arrested.
DeleteBeats the hell outa rolling him up in a carpet, and having him accidently fall across the border into the U.S. He was bagged while setting up a transfer of cartel cash to the California Communist Democrat Cartel. What a shame that he got caught.
ReplyDeleteSounds like political jibberish.
Delete@ 8:59
DeleteLove your comment,
Perfect Truth !
Still think that there’s hope for Mexico?
ReplyDeleteThis is the most hopeful news in a long time. It won’t do anything to stop violence in the immediate future, but if the war in Mexico is to end then impunity needs to end for the armed forces and politicians, who we all know are at the top of the narcopyramid.
DeleteIm sure there is, is there was hope for all the mass murdering genoside first europian settlelers why not for mexico?
DeleteWith this going on. Yes, there’s might be
DeleteNo hope what so ever ?
Deleteit will get Worse Never Ever Better
Only one chance and that is everyone stops running to usa and fights back for mexico
"there was hope for all the mass murdering genoside first europian settlelers why not for mexico?"
DeleteThe eternal victim, your pathetic, how sad, hope your in mexico with your hate
Usually General is untouchables
ReplyDeleteIt’s was volunteer.
DeleteCienfuegos and peña nieto betray el chapo and now chapo snitching on them is the sinaloa way
ReplyDelete@9:18 It clearly says he worked with Beltranes pendejo and Peña Nieto favored CJNG. That's the only reason legit how they exist.
DeleteChapo can't because he wasn't offered a deal.
Delete@12:12 youngster don't you know Chapo can have his sentence reduced by providing evidence and testimony against high ranking government officials. Pay attention lil homie🤣
DeleteSnap quiz, who was the last capo to et a huge reduction after sentencing for doing just that?
Delete5:43 i want to say Oziel?
Delete5:43 or colombian chupeta! For testifying against chapo
Delete5:43 I would say Mayito but wouldnt consider him a Capo so maybe Osiel?
Delete5:34PM
DeleteRest assured I paid and pay attention. Let's see if you paid attention, are you certain Chapo can do that even though he wasn't offered a deal and has already been sentenced? I'm talking about his specific case, provide citations too.
5:48 Osiel may have done that BEFORE but not after he was sentenced.
DeleteDamaso Lopez was reduced to 15 years, approx
Delete2:19
DeleteBefore or after sentencing?
It was Vincente Zambada. Only 10 years in sentence and able to keep majority of his assets. People sitting know that his father is an asset of the CIA. This information will be released not too distant future.
DeletePick me Pick me
DeleteI know I know
No one Chapo is in for LIFE
1:20
DeleteBefore or after sentencing?
Miss, miss, can i put my hand up now.
DeleteUnbelievable,grown fuckin men
6:19 Focus on the issue not the person.
DeleteWhere are the people who say, " buh buh, buh, AMLO hasn't done shit for Mexico!" 🤪🤪🤪🤪
ReplyDeleteImagine how stupid you sound.
DeleteHe got picked up in USA!
9:18 andan por ahi chingando a sus mas viejas de sus casas, llorando por algún chayote del PRI, o del PAN, por EPN y fecal.
DeleteI’d say trump has done more for Mexico then AMLO all these people are being caught but the us not Mexican gov
DeleteThey're getting indicted in the Eastern District of New York lil homies, pay attention@10:23,2:36
DeleteALMO = and he never will
Deletehe is just like all others
Supports of crime Drugs and loves Money
Ok big homie
DeleteGood they need to get all those s.o.b. They killed a lot of people probably more then the cartels and blamed the cartels for those killings. Peña and especially Calderon need to be in prison for the rest of their lives instead of getting asylum in the u.s.
ReplyDeleteCalderon is teaching at Harvard. Most likely he is out protected.
DeleteChapo keeps snitching
ReplyDeleteBro these are the same people that put Chapo in prision. This is revenge
DeleteTrump picking these fools off in the U.S. because Mexico won't. These arrests are from the information that came out from Vicente and others in the trial.
ReplyDeleteWtf your talking about? Then how come this corrupted general didn't get detain under the fat ass con man early when he started? Which by the way trump is corrupted as hell. He'll probably recruit him as a general. Don't forget Mexico placed this general as the most wanted. Wtf your talking about??
DeleteTipical snitchloa snitching, thats why a lot of higher ups dont trust or wanna work with the snitchloas any more
Delete10:00 well, there is some 400 million dollars worth of reasons to try and help mexican crooks understand that cooperation is in their best interest, life is hard when your personal loans are about to come due, money is tight and they ain't no more credit or credibility from Putin or Deutsche Bank
DeletePretty sure someone ratted him out.
DeleteMoreover, applaud his dedication to stem the flow of drugs. A significant reduction when it comes to land, air and sea. But don't agree with his politics.
does anyone here PEJE (MALO) have the guts to process and jail a person like Cienfuegos? seriously? MEXICO FAILED STATE !!!!
ReplyDeleteGiniral Salvador Cienpedos graduated from Heroic Military College on time to participate in Tlatelolco/Mexicp 68 DIAZ ORDAZ murdering of students and the Halconazo of 72 of LEA.
DeleteCienpedos never learned not to be a PIG, he worked hard at being one.
Mexican dirty war, you should investigate more----in 68 the protesters were wannabe communists. Influenced by Che Guevara and Castro therefore, they had well reserved to be quenched.
DeleteATT OP-- MEXICO FAILED STATE !!!!
Regardless, Cienfuegos should be charged with mass civilian deaths. He is EVIL.
DeleteI think Mayo snitched. Once he heard 4 Letras wanted war, he decided he needed more political and government leverage to go against Mencho ruthless ass. Just an opinion. I mean all his sons are rat bastards. Wouldn't be that surprising.
ReplyDeleteRead the article. Nobody snitched.
DeleteYou can be rest assured that Calderon and Nieto are never stepping on American soil again. Not after this, LMAO. They aint no fools, they would get snatched with a quickness and on the next plane to New York.
ReplyDelete@12:36 If I’m not mistaken, isn’t Calderon a professor for a university in the US?
DeleteNo. Videgarey (finance and foreign minister for epn) was at MIT before he fled to Israel last week
DeleteIsraeli's have ALWAYS played a role in latin americas corruption... Ben Suthi, or Colonel Yair Klein should ring a bell
DeleteMy mistake but Calderon did attend Harvard...I think that’s what I read prior to becoming president
Delete11:04 i hear a pod cast called “la corneta” and one of the host is videgaray’s brother his name is Eduardo videgaray he said that his brother is in the usa to be exact i think he is in chicago and it was fake that he went to israel
DeleteEven EPN went to harvard,
Deletefor a 2 week seminar, must have spent it on a flea market to spend his expense account on chinese made US fayuca.
Zedillo also hides in Yale or Harvard U and the US refused to extradite his sovereign ass back to Mexico.
Calderon is an adjunct professor at Harvard.
DeleteAnyone think chapo fixing to set him self up for either good life in prison or get out by testifying.. chess not checkers
ReplyDeleteThere's never good life in ADX.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
DeleteI do not recall if Sergio el grande or la barbie were talking about him and the reunions they had. He was a BLO associate before being the top dog of sedna. El grande is a government witness.
ReplyDeleteSergio el grande is living within us here in the US In Witsec
DeleteAP is reporting"Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said Friday that his ambassador to the United States Martha Bárcena told him two weeks ago that there was an investigation underway there involving Cienfuegos"
ReplyDeleteI believe this breaks the agreement since the last revolution between the Mexican military and politicians that "the army doesn’t interfere in politics, and politicians — the president included — don’t interfere with the army’s internal affairs"
It could argued the military broke it first by competing with the politicians for narco drug money but I would not be surprised if ALMO gets overthrown in a military Coup.
Whit 100 fuegos in jail stop a militar coup they want this. Other list of near 20 militars was planing a militar coup and 100 fuegos was the lider. Now these militares will get prosecuted and putbin jail.
DeleteIf ever a coup ALMO would knell and say Take it
DeleteHe woild never fight back
the prick would be happy to leave. he got his money,
what does he care who takes over mexico, Not He
Google "Project BOA Mexico"
DeleteAMLO will not allow military coup, and I don't see it happening because AMLO would have the backing of US. He can order US to protect the Mexican government. It's their best interest.
DeleteHeads are gonna roll
ReplyDeleteMexicos a fucken circus, as if all this fucken corruption isnt still going on during AMLOs presidency. Why are we even surprised?? We knew wtf was going on and didnt have to be directly tied in with Mexicos political sphere.
ReplyDeletePancho villa wouldve thought these corrupt pigs a lesson.
12:14 why do you think the US betrayed Pancho Villa, Pancho I Madero, Zapata, Goroztieta, Carranza, General Felipe Angeles, and Villa attacked Columbus to give it all to Alvaro Obregon and the sonoran mafia? There was a deal there.
Delete....given the rap sheet this dude faces... does anyone really believe he would have been arrested here in Mexico on similar charges... nota chance kiddies... too big to fall...now that the Americans have him, facing 10 to 20 in the slammer... and if he starts to sing... should get interesting
ReplyDeleteYou would think mexicans would be slightly happy that these politicos are being arrested but they probably more bitter that its the US doing it
ReplyDeleteWhat goes around comes around playing both sides. Dealing, killing then putting ppl to jail now it’s the other way around .
