Fake GoFundMe Account

Sending greetings to our Borderland Beat community. As many of you have already noticed, we are back to posting information and sharing content of Mexican drug cartels. Thank you all for the support you give us that motivate us to continue forward. Remember, we all do this for free without any compensation, our only interest is to share light of cartel activity.

We recently learned that there was a GoFundMe page created, purportedly to raise money for BB. It is not genuine, and we have requested from the organizer, Chris Holder, to remove it immediately. We have also contacted GoFundMe to report it. This account is claiming to be the official Borderland Beat Legal Fund, but we were never contacted, nor do we know who this Chris Holder is. It appears, at this point, to be a scammer, so be careful out there.

Joshua Koltun, our attorney, has agreed to represent us pro bono. A lot of people have been asking for a way to economically help us in this legal case. At some point in the future, we may create a GoFundMe page so that people can donate to Mr. Koltun, for those who wish to partially compensate him for the great work he is doing for us. If we create a GoFundMe page, it will be confirmed and posted here. In the meantime, do not contribute to any GoFundMe page purporting to be on behalf of BB, unless we confirm it here that it is legitimately operating on our behalf.

Little by little we are starting to get our readers back, and hopefully soon we will have everyone back to the way it was. The new forum is starting to see activity and some users are signing up. Please sign up with a username and set the information you provide to private. Remember, you decide what information you want to share. But please do share information, pictures and/or video, so that we can all benefit from it.

We got some of our top collaborators back and I hope we can add more here soon. Also, anyone can do "guest" posts, where we can post any info in the main page for you, just get ahold of any of the contributors, who can do that for you. As we settle into the new format, we can get back in the groove of things.
