UECS obtains maximum sanction against adolescent
• He was found criminally responsible for kidnapping and murder

Through the appeal filed by the Agent of the Public Ministry Specialized in Justice for Adolescents in matters of kidnapping and extortion. The Tribunal Criminal Justice Court for Adolescents decided to revoke an acquittal. And instead order a conviction of the maximum penalty against a teenage kidnapper. He is the youngest son of the criminal Santiago Mazari Arizmendi, alias "El Carrete".
On September 3, 2019, the accused conspired with others to kidnap two victims, a 20 and 15 year old minor. They moved them to a safe house and had them murdered. Afterwards they buried them in a ranch in the southwestern region of the state.
Therefore, the Anti-Kidnapping Prosecutor's Office initiated investigations that allowed the identification and degree of participation that the adolescent had in the criminal act. An arrest warrant was issued for this reason.
With operational intelligence work, field research and tactical analysis, the Fusion-UECS Group located the wanted teenager in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca. He was apprehended on December 19, 2019. And presented before the Control Judge Specialized in Criminal Justice for Adolescents, who decided to send him to trial for the alleged crime. The precautionary measure of preventive internment was initiated.
In September 2020, the teenager was taken to an oral trial, where he obtained from the Specialized Trial Judge, an acquittal by arguing that there was no basis to prove criminal responsibility.
This resolution was appealed by the Agent of the Public Ministry. It was up to the Tribunal Court to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the facts. And resolve to revoke the acquittal.
The adolescent criminal was found to be responsible for having participated in the kidnapping of the two victims. And the maximum sentence was imposed against him. He must spend 5 years in the Centro de Ejecución de Medidas Privativas de la Libertad para Adolescentes (CEMPLA).
In addition, the Anti-Kidnapping Prosecutor's Office is following another trial against him for the crime of aggravated kidnapping committed to the detriment of two different victims. The case is in its initial stages.
