Another reporter is missing in Sonora. This time it is Pablo Felipe Romero Chavez (aged 34), who was reportedly kidnapped in Guaymas, Sonora, last week. His wife filed a missing persons report to the Sonora Attorney General's Office after she was unable to get a hold of him.
Pablo Felipe was a reporter for the radio station FM105. He also reported for El Vigia and Entorno Informativo newspapers, where he covered the crime section in Guaymas and Hermosillo.
His family says that Pablo Felipe returned to his journalism profession in February after he managed a funeral home business for three years.
Investigators say that Pablo Felipe's home and vehicle were found open in Las Palmas neighborhood. However, Pablo Felipe had his cell phone with him and it was turned off.
Earlier this month, Borderland Beat reported that Jorge Molontzin Centlal, another journalist from Sonora, went missing. His whereabouts are unknown.
Guaymas and the surrouding municipalities are under dispute by several drug cartels, including Los Salazar and La Plaza (also known as Caborca Cartel).

Nothing is safe now. Especially funeral homes. They are in the business of the killed / dead. The guy went for his passion which was reporting. Can’t blame him for that.
