The two police chiefs mentioned in the interrogation video of Carlos Enrique Sanchez Martinez AKA El Cholo have been suspended from the state police force.
Authorities say that they were dismissed to prevent conflict of interest while the State Prosecutor's Office initiates an investigation against the two.
Jose de Jesus de Anda Zambrano (referred to as 'El 0-2' in the video) and Mario Alberto Martinez Gonzalez ('El 0-3') were accussed of providing support to the Nueva Plaza Cartel and El Cholo.
Their vacant positions were replaced by Juan Pablo Sanchez Gonzalez and Antonio Munguia Gomez, respectively.
Sanchez-Gonzalez was the Commissioner of Region 3, in southern Guadalajara. The neighborhoods he covered were Miravella, Higuerillas, Del Fresno, and Morelos. Munguia-Gomez was the Commander of the Unit for the Recovery of the Rule of Law and Peace (Urepaz) in Jalisco.
The man replacing Sanchez-Gonzalez will be Fernando Garcia Alvarez, who was the Head of Unit 9 in Guadalajara. The neighborhoods he covered were Lomas de Polanco, Echeverria, and Miravalle.
Omar Garcia Harfuch, the head of the Mexico City Police, was also mentioned in El Cholo's video. He gave a statement today denying he had any ties to organized crime. El Cholo mentioned that Garcia Harfuch was working with him to combat the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
"Regarding [El Cholo's video] ... I reiterate that false accusations from criminals will not distract us. My commitment to society is firm: we will continue to fight crime to the last consequences", Garcia Harfuch posted on his Twitter account.

DeleteUnivision has a much clearer version of the Cholo interrogation than what is circulating on Twitter. I could finally make out what was on the sicarios’ hats. Most of them are wearing black caps with a black-and-white Mencho face logo on them (I believe it’s from the image of Mencho the DEA commonly uses, where he is wearing the white t-shirt). Half of the Mencho face logo is in black-and-white and the other half is blacked out. The other sicario is wearing a black cap with a white 3 logo on it. Seems to send the message that Mencho and his son-in-law “El 3/JP” Valencia are unified and firmly in control.

Delete@Chema: I apologize I was typing quickly and wrote son-in-law rather than stepson, which is what “3/JP” is to Mencho, as you pointed out so graciously. I believe Univision’s security expert is wrong when he says the 3 logo on the one sicarios cap is a sideways M.

He even said that he had meetings with Omar Garcia Harfuch who is a big CJNG enemy. From now on, CJNG will force people to say shit about authorities in order to get rid of them. Easy, right?
