Two men were murdered in a gangland attack in Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, early on Sunday morning. Both were driving in a neighborhood called Aldea-Kaan when sicarios pulled up on a motorcycle and shot at them from point-blank range.
A private security guard from the neighborhood who witnessed the shooting detailed that the driver tried to escape the shots, but was not successful in out-motoring the motorcyclist. The assassins then fled the scene and have not been arrested.
Investigators from the Quintanna Roo Attorney General's Office say that one of the victims was a US citizen with ties to European criminal groups. He was wanted in Ukraine for cocaine trafficking charges; his fugitive alert code was 305CH3.
The deceased were identified as Fernando Luis 'N' and Vitaly 'N'. Local media say Fernando Luis was a US citizen; Vitaly's citizenship may also be foreign, reports say.
Borderland Beat reported earlier this month that the aspiring mayor of Puerto Morelos for the Ecologist Green Party of Mexico (PVEM), Ignacio Sanchez Cordero, was murdered by sicarios inside a coffee shop.
Murder and mayhem in a failed state called Mexico
ReplyDeleteUmm Mexico is a country, not a state Mr. Tonto.
DeleteA “failed state” is a saying. It’s referring to the state of affairs of the system in place.
Delete8:37 State is another word for country, I believe you are the Tonto not him
Delete8:37 you may not want to call people Tonto when posting a comment like this haha
DeleteHow many shootings did you had this month in el norte???
DeleteCountries are referred to as states as well
Delete@8:37 go look up the definition of failed state. Next time you try to be a funny guy. Mr tonto.
Delete@837, ummmmmm a country is a state, and a state can be a country. Somebody obviously didnt pay attention in history class. Go look at the list for the United Nations Member STATES. The United States has "confused" the meaning, originally the "states" saw themselves as separate "countries". In fact Pennsylvania had an amendment in its "state" constitution forbidding treaties with other states. It had to be changed when they and New Jersey wanted to build a bridge together, which would have violated that clause.
Delete9:32 and 8:10
DeleteMexico is not considered a failed state, it actually ranks as average compared to other sovereign states.
8:10 is a state sized PENDEJO,
DeleteUkrainians do not come to Cancún to be tourists, they come to steal money and do dirty tricks and they get killed for being sech horny arses...

Delete"He is claimed to be a member of the Sinaloa Cartel, a charge that Ye Gon, who has no previous criminal record, has denied. He became a citizen of Mexico in 2002 and was recognized as a wealthy business owner in Mexico before these allegations of wrongdoing arose."
Fanboys cannot get any worse.
Headline says us citizen but there’s 2 guys killed. Only care when a us citizen is killed.
ReplyDeleteWell. Lots of people get killed every day. The fact that it was a US citizen makes this news notable. Then add the fact that he was a top guy in Europe and you have yourself a good story.
Delete- El Choclo
Not sure about the top guy, just a ordinary criminal I would say, there is no witali or Vitali...with a red notice at Interpol
DeleteAn American trafficking cocaine from Mexico to Ukraine. Now we’ve seen it all.
ReplyDeletesomething fishy with this photo, unless the driver sustained wounds to the back of his body only there is no blood or obvious sign of trauma there. I don’t think he’s dead.
