"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat
The hit men belonging to a drug trafficking crime group in Zacatecas nicknamed the CJNG were detained by the National Guard after an armed "clash" where they fought, and their arrest was achieved.
The Public Ministry of the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) in Zacatecas, obtained connection to a process against six people, for their probable responsibility in the commission of the crime of stockpiling firearms, possession of magazines, and rounds for the exclusive use of the Armed forces.
The foregoing derived from being made available by elements of the National Guard, who managed to arrest said persons, in the municipality of Tepetongo.
Those now accused were assured of a 7.62 x 51 mm caliber rifle firearm, five 7.62 x 39 mm caliber firearms, 28 magazines for firearms, 672 rounds, a tactical vest, a pair of braces for accessories, handcuffs, a knife, a holster, six cell phones and a vehicle.
Due to these events, the persons, weapons, magazines, rounds, and objects seized were placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Ministry (MPF). Who after integrating the corresponding investigative folder, turned the case over to the competent authority. They in turn linked the process and granted as a precautionary measure their preventive detention
