Over 200 People Displaced in Recent Clash Between CJNG and Sinaloa Cartel in Jalisco–Zacatecas Border

"Morogris" for Borderland Beat; TY to "El Zacatecas"

9 vehicles were secured after the shootout; at least 4 of them were armored.

The narco-war on the Zacatecas and Jalisco borders reached a new high point earlier this week when a shootout broke out between suspected members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and the Sinaloa Cartel in Teocaltiche Municipality, Jalisco.

According to several testimonies shared on social media, the shootout displaced over 200 people in at least 7 rural communities: El Saucito, Rancho Mayor, Rancho Santo, Agua Tinta, El Rosario, Los García, and Los Pocitos. The Catholic Parish of Mechoacanejo welcomed close to 50 families who fled Tecocaltiche, and were provided with food and shelter. However, they said that the food is quickly running out.

From El Saucito, at least 68 people from 18 families were displaced; from El Rosario, nine people from two families; and from Los Pocitos, 37 people from nine families. From Rancho Santo, there were six people from two families; from Rancho Mayor, 16 people from four families; from Agua Tinta, 70 people from 16 families; and Los García, eight people from two families.

Reports say that a convoy of 18 vehicles with the insignias of the CJNG made their way into Teocaltiche earlier this week and clashed with gunmen from the Sinaloa Cartel. At least nine vehicles were found abandoned in several parts of Teocaltiche.

Teocaltiche authorities reported that its population was experiencing a "delicate situation", and asked its citizens via Facebook to not share pictures or videos on social media to prevent panic from spreading.

"We invite residents not to disseminate information that does not come from official sources to avoid creating panic in our community," municipal authorities said.

Several people on social media criticized the government's ask as "censorship" and said the call to remain calm was absurd. People asked for the Mexican Army and Navy to intervene.

“Is this serious?” said a resident, adding that it was irrational to ask people who cannot return to their homes to remain calm. "I would like to see you in the shoes of those people," she said.

Teocaltiche is located in the Altos Norte region in Jalisco, where it borders Aguascalientes and Zacatecas. The predominant economic activities in the area are livestock and agriculture.

This shootout occurred a few weeks after the Mexican government dispatched more state and federal security forces in Teocaltiche, following a massive shootout that took place in this municipality in early April. This deployment, however, has not put an end to the violence.

  5. The CJNG convoy that entered Teocaltiche had no insignias. The majority of the vehicles you see in the pictures belong to them.

    2. U a Los Guerrero/ 08 fan? Shouldn’t cheer for those vatos. CJNG keep saying they’re the good guys yeah right. They’re the ones supposedly in charge in Ecuandureo and they got their dog Pelón Zárate there fucking with innocent civilians that ain’t in the business. That fuckers people stay robbing the homes of people over here in the US, also kicking people out of their homes and cobrando cuota. We were better off when el gordo A.V. and his templarios were in charge.

    3. @6:28 so you ever do what another comment said to get at payaso through FB? You've mentioned this for about 2months already. You ever read or heard about what happened to the pecho duros from around that region for getting out of line?

      Delete
    4. 6:28 PM Make a fake profile on Facebook and send it to El Sargy ask him if he can send it to the Jaliscos. You need to have proof they are doing this real proof. They will take care of it if it comes to be true. Once their people start doing what the Carteles Unidos start doing it is an indication that they are going to flip similar to what happened in Zamora. SO they will take care of it if it comes to be true.

      Delete
    5. @7:55 yeah I saw that that comment, problem is everyone around there afraid of these vatos, nobody willing to talk/testify or risk themselves trying to get evidence, only proof I’d have is a location they could check on if they catch the guy there they’ll see themselves what’s going on. And no I don’t know about the pecho duros or what happened to them.

      Delete
    6. @10:59 they got picked up for doing some shit similar to what you say is happening in Ecuandureo. 7:55 is giving you solid advice and keep in mind that it's also close to Zamora. Do you know personally that it's NG or somebody over there is telling you it's them because you seem to not be over there.

    7. @3:11 I know personally man everyone knows these guys are CJNG. He even has a corrido made by Ancla Norteña a music group from Tanhuato, song name is El Pelon de La Olla. basically since 08 and Laco and the Guerreros are out doing the big battles this Pelón asshole is their small time plaza boss in charge of ecuandureo municipio, basically watches the area and fights some of the small time CU/ LNFM groups bordering Zamora in smaller towns like Atacheo, Los Sauz, etc. and I go back and forth between Michoacan and the US. IDK if it ever came out on the news the guy that was kidnapped in 2020 look up Arnulfo Garibay Magaña this guy got kidnapped by these fucks I’m talking about. Kidnapped him probably killed him, sacked his house took all his shit, fuckers riding around in his vehicles that they stole like they are untouchable. A couple years before that they got raided and army took like 20 stolen vehicles from them many of them from people who went to visit the area during the December festivals. That’s why a lot of people don’t want to go visit that area anymore. I don’t care that they’re narcos I don’t care that they’re CJNG I wouldn’t care if they were LNFM as long as they were sticking to their business, my problem is that they fucking with civilians and hard working normal people.

      Delete
    8. @4:18 that's no good, basically this individual has been fucking with the civilians for over 3 years. IDK if Esteban controlled your municipio for CT when they had control pero este ojete would fuck with everybody, wanting to tax civilians y mañosos. Luego le partieron la madre y también al que siguió and then they AD took over in that región and its been better. El que anda mal, mal acaba but IDK what's up in your municipio. Try to reach out to SARGY y que mejoren las cosas para tu pueblo

    10. @1:05 before these guys took over it was viagras/LNFM for a short while Pelón Marin the guy that went to prison for kidnapping and killing those 6 younger guys from Tinaja de Vargas (08 and Laco’s home town) some of which were American citizens, that happened for being foolish, They probably weren’t CJNG but they were probably related to someone who was, and did something they shouldn’t have been doing in a KNOWN rival cartel town which was sending saludos and calling out your town. Thatd be like me being a norteño and going to a sureño neighborhood and yelling Norte and calling attention to myself. Before that it was el Gordo Vega who was in charge of our municipio when Templarios ran shit.

      Russos(mz) vs chapos

  17. CDS is doing what the BLO from Nayarit did and it’s not going to workout for them. In the years of 2014-2017ish before H2 death and El Jardinero was going through Nayarit like a hot knife through butter, BLO sent out small cells like those to try and control small areas and influence the towns people. If I remember correctly, some of them even got abducted when they entered the state. The problem CDS faces is that Jalisco is slowly becoming a fortress state, just go to any of the souther cities like Tamazula, CD Guzman, El Grullo, Tonaya, Tecalitlan, and others and its 1000% on lockdown. Matter of fact just recently the plaza bosses got assigned bigger plazas like the Zapotiltic plaza boss took over Tuxpan as well, and La Garra is no longer the main boss in CD Guzman. There’s changes being made within CJNG and I’m guessing they’re structuring the cartel for easier control, the southern part of the state is no longer in “battle positions” its cruising now and plaza bosses are now assigned bigger plazas since it’s no longer disputed since they pushed into Michoacán. They will start funneling sicarios from calmer areas to fight for Zacatecas just like they did to take over Guanajuato. Some sicarios I know of are already in SLP and others in Nochistlán.

safe to assume these guys are/were gunmen of el chapitos zac/jalisco branch?

looks like they got ambushed while refilling on side of the road...doesnt look like they were in formation and that one set of wheels at the top was lit up somethin' serio.. too many not so cheerios to count...

that interior armored DIY roll cage they seem to all be building the last couple of years really seems to do the trick protecting against small and medium sized rounds roughly 7.62 chivo and smaller unless hit repeatedly in the same spot which by the look of it seems to be the strategy facing these things.

..thats gotta sound something wicked to be stuck in one of those death traps with hundreds of rounds raining down on ya, only to climax with the sound of the armor chipping away and maybe even 50 cal rounds start to pierce thru shattering all ideas of relative safety as long as inside the tank that all inside had all assumed only minutes prior...

yeesh batman.. ya keep driving into ambushes like joker over there and...well ur gonna need a new troca way! adventures of batman and rueben, its all good. he's..gente nueva ;) bah dump chah...swing batter, almost certainly a miss...gettn better...maybe not
