The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office in the state of Morelos confirmed in a bulletin that the man found dead in Xochimilco, Mexico City, on April 28, 2021, was one of the four policemen suspected of kidnapping two businessmen. His name was José Mario Gómez Guillén.
As reported by Borderland Beat, two businessmen from Morelos, Román Martínez García (aged 39) and his stepson Luis Fernando Ogazón Ariza (aged 23), who were reported as missing since last January 16, after they were detained by the officers in Yautepec municipality during a routine traffic stop. The two victims were owners of a gas station.
The former police officers have been considered fugitives since last January after one of their colleagues was arrested for the same crime and confessed their participation in the kidnapping.
State authorities disclosed their faces and offered a reward of almost MXN$25,000 to anyone that provides information that leads to their arrest.
According to the death certificate, which leaked on social media, Gomez Guillen was found dead on Wednesday, April 28; on Friday his body arrived in Xochitepec, where he was buried. The body had several shots to the head and was found inside a black plastic bag.

DeleteThere's only a handful of documented cases of people actually putting several rounds into themselves. Extremely rare but it happens.
