CJNG Suspected of Narco Message Threat Against Mayor in Mexico's Richest City

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

A narcobanner (narcomanta) appeared this morning on the bridge Puente de la Unidad. This overpass crosses the Santa Catarina River and connects the cities of Monterrey and San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo Leon, Mexico's richest city.

Alleged gunmen for the Cartel Jalisco New Generation (CJNG) are suspected of having left a direct threat for the Secretary of Public Security, Gerardo Guadalupe Escamilla Vargas. As well as for Miguel Treviño de Hoyos, mayor of San Pedro.

Banner reads as follows:

This message goes out to Miguel Treviño de Hoyos, mayor of San Pedro. Stop playing dumb ass and start controlling those fucking bitches that you have as policemen.

We’re coming with everything against Gerardo Escamilla Vargas and Ricardo Martinez Felix.

We already know that they’re the ones who direct the kidnappings, extortions, as well as the sale of narcotics within this municipality. Sincerely, CJNG

    3. Here’s a good video to help you understand what that overpass actually looks like.

    4. Theres a video of Gente Nueva hanging one like this in broad daylight in Juarez years ago. They stopped traffic with guns on bridge above and simply hung a banner.

    1. The military probably let them stand on their trucks. Such a corrupt country. I got pulled over and harassed by a federal cop for about 30 minutes and all he wanted was 200 pesos...$10. I would’ve given him $100 to not scare the shit out of me threatening to tow us in my car 4 hours to GDL.

    2. Small vehicle to blend into the crowd. Depends population of city/town..

    3. I'm not sure how they hang them, but it makes sense to put them where they're hard to take down. That way a lot of people take photos of them before the police remove them, and their message makes the news

  6. BLO v CJNG in San Pedro/Monterrey? this is getting interesting. i want to assume the CJNG is working with Primito's CDG faction, so maybe CDN will look to make an alliance with BLO if they haven't already. BLO heads the San Pedro plaza.

    1. Cdn controls the majority of Monterrey and always have let’s remember what they done to cdg back in 2010-2013 in Monterrey they have an alliance with BLO but I wouldn’t say BlO has a large cartel presence in the plaza however a lot of their leaders hide out their mostly all of the street gangs in Monterrey are working for cdn

    2. I think blo,zetas/cdn and CDG eat from that plaza .

    3. BLO in Monterrey is not the real organization anymore. For example when El Jardinero took over Nayarit, the remaining BLO people were killed off or switched sides that’s why it didn’t get as bloody as other states since most BLO plaza bosses sold the plaza. In Monterrey, the remaining operators are not really BLO, I would say they are more of an independent group at this point even though Chapo Isidro frequents the area. Isidro is very smart though he doesn’t shit where he eats that’s why not a lot of people knew he had a house in the city.

  7. This is your daily reminder that CJNG answer when losing allies, routes and border spots is to cry with mantas. Pathetic hoes.

  9. Cjng is already in monterrey?

  10. I don’t think this is CJNG. This seems like another group trying to heat things by pinning things on them. CJNG does have a presence but not enough to start throwing mantas around and threatening public officials.(Unless things have changed and by some miracle the CDG cells all aligned with CJNG like in Zacatecas)
