"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat
The Cartel Jalisco New Generation released online a narco message directed at Juan Jose Farías Álvarez aka El Abuelo Farías. Their notice also included the heads of two decapitated males in a styrofoam cooler.
The ascending CJNG is looking to assassinate him.
El Abuelo is a controversial figure in Mexico. He’s been linked to the self-defense groups and the world of drug trafficking.
In the city of Tepalcatepec he is received with praise and cheers by the townspeople. El Abuelo is a celebrity for some but for the Michoacán government El Abuelo is a criminal.
Currently he’s the leader of the Tepalcatepec Cartel.

ReplyDeleteThey admit being trafickers, but in their eyes they are self defense groups. They don't steal, extort, kidnap or cobrar piso. They don't harm the innocent people or bother them. That's why they consider themselves self defense groups, because they fight that from getting into their town. They are good to the people. I'm not sure if they started traficking to finance their group (I think they did) or they were already trafickers. There's a video/documentary on where they admit being trafickers on you tube.
