Reports of a huge clash between gunmen of La Linea and Gente Nueva are spreading like wildfire across news outlets in Chihuahua.
The shootout reportedly took place in Dolores, a rural community in Guadalupe y Calvo Municipality.
Sources speak of "dozens" of dead, but no authority has confirmed the numbers yet. Residents from the area say that the clash lasted several hours.
In several videos circulating on social media, one can see armed men in at least six trucks shouting "El Siete" (El 7), in reference to their cartel boss, as well as "Gente Nueva". Likewise, in another video at night, one can hear screams and gunshots in the background.
Guadalupe y Calvo borders the state of Sinaloa and is believed to be a turf controlled by Gente Nueva, a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel. This municipality is part of Mexico's Golden Triangle and has large regions of opium poppy cultivation. In addition to drug production, illegal logging is also a profitable activity disputed by drug cartels in the area.
Officials from the State Investigatory Agency who were not authorized to speak with the press confirmed that the shootout broke out after La Linea, the former paramilitary group of the old Juarez Cartel, made an incursion to Guadalupe y Calvo in an effort to take control of Gente Nueva's turf.
Local media reports say that several of the wounded and dead were transferred to hospitals in Parral, a Chihuahua municipality also under the control of Gente Nueva, and to Culiacan, Sinaloa.
The State Attorney General's Office has not yet issued a statement on the shootout.
2 Charred Bodies in Bocoyna
Earlier this week, the charred bodies of two men were found inside a white Dodge Caravan, on the highway that connects San Juanito to Maguarichi. The incident occurred on Kilometer 7 in Bocoyna municipality.
Authorities reported that the vehicle was practically destroyed by fire. When they proceeded to inspect the interior they located the dead bodies.
The lifeless men was identified as Eugenio G. N., 43 years old, alias El Pelón; and Ramón Epigmenio P. G., 27 years old. The former was reported missing days prior.
At the site, a woman was interviewed and indicated that one of the deceased could be her husband, with whom she traveled from Creel to San Juanito to repair a motorcycle.
Bocoyna and its surrounding area are under dispute by La Linea and Gente Nueva. La Linea is primarily based in Bocoyna while Gente Nueva has more presence south of the municipality.

I didn't really notice that for the fact he isn't really active and cause I have over 1000 friends but last week he posted a story on his page for the first time in a long time. It was a pic of him holding his rifle with the mountains showing in the background and quoting "conquistando nuevas plazas" so I wouldn't doubt if it's los Hs trying to push into gdl y calvo

ReplyDeletebocoyna is all linea but creel and everything south is GN. its been like that for a few years now, pieces haven't really moved as much. this bold move from la linea in guadalupe&calvo was a suicide mission. its hard to push a cartel out of a turf, especially one as remote as guadalupe&calvo... lets see what happens. i think la linea should go for zaragoza and parral instead, shut down the durango corridor from GN.

It would turn into a mini juarez and for a plaza like that I don't think it would be worth it unless if they controlled all of Chihuahua city and everything in between parral and Chihuahua City aswell which in that case that whole highway would be theres
Delete442, i think la linea should focus on Chihuahua city, you are correct. they are currently working with los aztecas there versus a few GN cells that are fighting the plaza. keep in mind CDS is divided in the zaragoza and parral factions. its a matter of time before la linea comes in and does something. only time will tell. creel is a big one since it has a lot of illegal logging and they can exploit the tourism industry through investment, lavado de dinero.

Most of the time it's kids, that come in here and ruin the true comments vs the fake ones. One kid wants to show off, what he can get away, while the kids tries to outpace his comment, like the caps lock kid,wants to impress the emoji kid, or make fun of Sacario 006, then you have the dumbazz that type all capitals.
