"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat
Azucena Uresti: For the first time in the history of Aguililla, Michoacán, one of the municipalities where residents and authorities constantly face organized crime that seeks to control the territory, members of the Cartel Jalisco New Generation (CJNG) posed to be photographed and to demonstrate their power.
They did it for the cameras of the CuartoOscuro photojournalism agency. The hitmen of one of the most feared and powerful drug cartels showed their vehicles, showed their weapons, and showed their faces.
Just on June 14, the United States Department of Justice assured in a report that this cartel, the CJNG, is the best armed and the most dangerous in the country.
