Mexicali, Baja California: Man Survives Second Attempt On His Life In Less Than 6 Months

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

On the night of June 30, Darío Eduardo Fuentes Figueroa, a 41-year-old man, was shot while traveling aboard a red 2000 Ford F-150 pick-up, with traffic plates BN70836 while traveling on the San Felipe highway, near Lake Superior of the Xochimilco neighborhood in Mexicali.

Armed subjects on board a compact, gray vehicle drove parallel to the victim. And shot several times with a .9mm caliber weapon, from the co-pilot's side, striking him once on his right back side, and sped away along the same road.

The victim requested the support of the authorities for his protection and medical care. Municipal agents were the first to arrive and attend to Darío Eduardo, a resident of Gran Venecia, who narrated that this past March he had been shot by unidentified subjects. He also assured he doesn’t know the reasons for that direct aggression.

The man was transferred to a private hospital to receive medical care where he was later declared stable.

The victim's wife was notified and stayed for the longest accompanying him in the hospital. However, when he returned home he found a wreath of flowers in the courtyard, as a direct threat.

Municipal agents and elements of the State Investigation Agency (AEI) took the case and began with the investigations in search of obtaining information from those responsible for the attack and the warning.

    2. I still remember back in 2011 when it happened i got little to no coverage at all until now that the show came out. just binged through the whole 6 episodes and man it just kind of puts an actual imagine to what one might have tried to picture when reading articles on it and only having pictures to look at. The Zetas were and are animals

    3. Just binged-watched it the other day! Sad that this unfortunate and vile incident didn't make headlines when it happened, nor has any one been held accountable for the massacre of hundreds of innocent people of Allende.

The show is very touching and I believe this following article was the motivation behind the series:

    4. From what I read, they are honest that the character 'portrayed' are mostly fiction out of respect, so general composite characters.
I read poor reviews, but glad it puts word out there.
Anyone who has read brutal gory details, knows what a sad disaster this was for families, town and obviously innocent victims.

  3. He knows, one way or the other. Either he's in threat or attacked. If he doesn't know and attacked, he's in threat, why? he knows

  9. How pathetic is the Mexican media and law enforcement., they’ll fully name victims and sometimes with their address but criminals get a “N” after their first name.

  10. 9:54 NO PINCHES MAMES GÜEY.
the DEA has nothing to do with the 43 disappearances, that is a false flag full of BS to distract from the real criminals, mexican army and federal police trying to prevent the 43 from going to Mèxico City to protest the 68 Massacre of Tlatelolco carried out by SEDENA secretary, general Marcelino garcia barragan, his army, policia federal, pentathlon olimpico paramilitar, Brigada Blanca, before the olympiad.
It is no coincidence that grandson Omar Hamid Garcia Harfuch was chief policia federal intelligence officer in Guerrero for the Ayotzinapos disappearance case and with EPN friends wanted to stop for good the protests against the PRI government that have been going on for over 50 years...
Stop blaming DEA for your granny's farts, they are no saints, but have no need for shit like Ayptzinapa.

  11. San Juan was a place where they used to cut horse heads off and put Tabasco sauce in water guns, chicken feet hanging under trees and snake skin boots and in the 70s they made beef jerky and sold raisins in a box along with laffy taffy

    1. I have wondered the same about El Mayo, also if El Mencho pass(ed) would it be kept secret so 'authorities' would continue to 'go after' the boogy man in a cave or he would almost reach mythical status? Just curious if it would be possible along with various death rumors?
