"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat
The human remains found scattered and deposited in black plastic bags in the streets of the Rafael Alvarado neighborhood of the municipality of Orizaba, were identified this Friday.
Relatives of Filiberto Acahua, went to the Semefo in Orizaba to identify the human remains and confirmed that it was him, who was kidnapped by an armed group on June 30 on the Fortín-Villa Unión highway.
The taxi driver, known as "El Veloz", drove unit 217 of Fortín, from the "Premier" area, towards the community of Villa Unión.
His vehicle was suddenly intercepted by an armed group that used violence and the firing of weapons into the air to forcibly remove “El Veloz" and his passenger from the taxi.
It should be said that he was skinned and mutilated, his body was left next to a cardboard with a threatening message against a police chief of Public Security.
For this investigative case, the Prosecutor's Office has an file open.
If they ever try this against me I'll blast my way out.

ReplyDeleteWell alot of taxi drivers are used as lookouts or transporters to collect money from extortion, some are threatened and some join on their own. Not sure if either of those are the same cases for this poor victim, still no one deserves to be killed like that if he was in it.

ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of taxi drivers in Mexico who work for cartels or other groups. Don’t know about this guy but tourist are told to never flag a taxi from the airport(or in general).Always use a registered system or an Uber.
