Eduardo Arellano Félix, Former Leader Of The Tijuana Cartel, Is Issued A Formal Prison Order

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

The boss will remain an inmate in the maximum security prison of the Altiplano, in the Mexican municipality of Almoloya de Juárez.

A federal judge issued a formal prison order against the former leader of the Tijuana cartel, Eduardo Arellano Félix, El Doctor, for his alleged responsibility in the crime of organized crime.

Enrique Beltrán Santes, Second District Judge of Criminal Procedures based in Toluca, State of Mexico, determined that the Attorney General's Office (FGR) provided evidence that makes El Doctor's responsibility for this crime presumed.

The former leader of the cartel will remain in the maximum security prison of El Altiplano, in the Mexican municipality of Almoloya de Juárez. On August 23, the FGR apprehended Eduardo Arellano after being deported by the United States on the Brownsville-Matamoros International Bridge.

Eduardo Arellano was arrested in 2008 in Tijuana, Baja California, and was extradited to the United States in 2012, where he was sentenced to 15 years in prison and, for his cooperation with the authorities of that country, he was convicted only on two of the seven charges on which he was accused in his extradition.

After serving that part of the sentence in a federal low security prison in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the U.S. immigration authorities made him available to the Mexican authorities.

The Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime (FEMDO) entered a preliminary investigation and obtained the arrest warrant.

In October 2008, agents of the Federal Preventive Police (PFP) with support from the Army, captured El Doctor after a confrontation.

The Doctor assumed the leadership of the cartel, after DEA agents arrested his younger brother Francisco Javier Arellano, El Tigrillo, in international waters—on August 14, 2006 off the coast of Baja California.

However, he left the responsibility of the Tijuana cartel to his nephew Luis Fernando Sánchez Arellano, El Alineador, the latter who, along with José Jorge Briceño López, El Cholo, engaged in a war to end up with the former hitmen bosses of that group, Eduardo Teodoro García Simental, El Teo, and Raydel López Uriarte, El Muletas.

  6. Talking about snitches. I remember being in county jail fighting my case and I was there for 6 months. I met many people fighting cases or just trying to sign a PLEA deal.
There were these 5 guys from sinaloa fighting a case but they all snitched on each other, that was the dumbest thing I ever witnessed. I asked them questions and their defence was going to be they were SCARED..
Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.. At least shut your mouth!! Lol
