José Martín N., alias "El Choco," who was considered the new leader of organized crime in the area of Palmar de Bravo and other municipalities in that area, was arrested in Veracruz. This subject had accumulated a lot of power after the arrest of Jalit C., alias "El Mamer".
Elements of the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) of Veracruz arrested José Martín N. in the municipality of Fortín, who was already wanted by authorities in Puebla.
"El Choco" was arrested for administrative offenses; however, when reviewing his data on the Mexico Platform, an arrest warrant was in force by justice authorities of the State of Puebla, for the crime of qualified homicide and injury.
The detainee was placed at the disposal of the ministerial authorities of Puebla for his legal process since last night and a strong mobilization was made to the Metropolitan Security Complex in Cuautlancingo.
As PÁGINA NEGRA reported, José Martín N., alias "El Choco", is originally from Cuesta Blanca, lives in Puente Negro and controlled the municipalities of Esperanza, Tezuapan, Cuacnopalan, Palmar de Bravo and Cañada Morelos; his gang is mainly dedicated to the theft of passenger trucks, assault on cargo transport and theft of LP gas.
Information from the federal forces to which PÁGINA NEGRA had access stated that "El Choco" was annexed to a branch of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) to maintain control of highways such as the Puebla-Orizaba highway.
His criminal gang was located for constantly using tires placed in the front end of their vehicles, especially near Palmar de Bravo, to dock cargo trucks and also assault passenger line buses.
