"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat
As part of the actions that the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) has launched to strengthen security in the municipality of Pinos, elements of the State Preventive Police (PEP) located a vehicle that, before the police arrived, was abandoned. Police found caltrops, ammunition and doses of drugs.
Within the framework of the Comprehensive Public Security Strategy for Zacatecas (ESPIZ), the troops were carrying out security and deterrence of crime tours on a dirt road in the Estancia de Guadalupe community, in Pinos, where they observed a red Dodge Nitro vehicle, whose occupants upon noticing the presence of police elements fled.
As they approached to verify the unit they left abandoned, they detected that it had the keys in the ignition, the windows down. Inside they found camouflage pants, dozens of caltrops, bullets of various calibers, pipes for consumption of drugs, along with plastic wrappings that contained marijuana.
The vehicle and the located objects were seized in order to make them available to the competent authority to carry out the corresponding investigation.
Considering the level of corruption in Mexico at this time, doesn't it defeat the purpose of blurring an officer's face if the truck number & license plate are still readily visible?
ReplyDeleteAll criminal groups have to do is request a list of who was in truck 625 on that particular day, no?
CALTROPS have been having there moment at BB. Having just learned what they are (thank you BB) have you noticed CALTROPS has been written about roughly 4 times in the past 10 days. Either they are having a ' moment' or its an indicator that I need to get a life. Sadly, I know the answer. Damn you BB, I can't get enough...sigh
