Fresnillo, Zacatecas: Armed Criminals Attack Several During A Wake

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

On Tuesday afternoon, armed individuals arrived in front of a home where a wake was being held.

They used their weapons against three men and two women, of whom a man died on a nearby street, fleeing the aggression, and another woman died upon arrival at the hospital. The authorities only confirmed one homicide.

According to official information, two simultaneous events occurred; the first shooting attack occurred minutes before noon on San Miguel Street, in the vicinity of Colonia Esparza and Buenos Aires.

However, it was unofficially known that in that place five people, three men and two women, were shot when they were outside the funeral.

The place was quickly guarded and the scene was cordoned off, this was the location of some shell casings scattered on the street.

The second attack, according to the authorities, was reported by the neighbors of Calle Bahía de San Juanico in the La Paz neighborhood, where a man was struck by gunfire, minutes later his death was confirmed.

Police reports state that this man fled his aggressors and later died due to the severity of his injuries.

According to initial police reports, another person injured by gunfire, a woman attending the wake, was taken to the hospital aboard a private car, but died on arrival; however, this version was not officially confirmed by the authorities.

Experts from the Zacatecan Institute of Forensic Sciences (IZCF) took charge of the gathering of evidence and the removal of the corpse to perform the lawful autopsy. This while the investigations were concluded at both crime scenes.

  1. Lowest scum of the cartels, no respect whatsoever at a funeral.
Karma will come back at hit them.
They chose to bother during a funeral, now for the autodefensas, when a criminal cartel is at a funeral, gang up and shoot them down, don't some shooting until all are dead.

  4. 11:43 the Hatfields or the Mc Coys did not have the "monriales" lording it over them, it is no coincidence that the cuicos became known a polizetas all over tamaulipas, Nuevo Lion, Veracruz, Tabasco, Oaxaca, Coahuila, before arriving in Zacatecas with governor Ricardo Monrial as municipal presidente of Fresnillo.

    3. A PURGE is to do away with a group, an idea or something along those lines. I'm not sure why I'm answering this, but, there you go.
