"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat
On the banks of the Rio Bravo
In the vicinity of the Rio Bravo, in the municipality of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, National Guard (GN) personnel located about a kilo and a half of the presumed synthetic drug known as crystal meth, inside a backpack, in an apparent state of abandonment.
Near the tributary, which is Mexico's border with the United States, National Guardsmen made security and surveillance tours when they found, among the undergrowth, a black backpack.
National Guard personnel searched the surroundings to locate the owner of the bag, without positive results.
When opening the backpack, three irregular packages made of tan tape containing a granulated and crystalline substance with the characteristics of crystal meth were found, weighing approximately one and a half kilos.
The apparent narcotic was seized and made available to the ministerial authorities in the entity, where the exact weight and narcotic type will be determined.
With these actions, the National Guard contributes to the projects implemented by the Government of Mexico to guarantee peace and security, it endorses its loyalty and willingness to work for the well-being of Mexican families.
