Leticia Álvarez, a member of the Collective Mothers Seekers of Sonora, was abducted by a group of armed men in the morning; after 12 hours, she was released alive, reported the leader of the group, Cecilia Patricia Flores Armenta.

Around 10:20 a.m., Leticia's daughters received a call where they were informed that her mother had appeared, while they were looking for her in a mountain area north of Hermosillo in the company of her companions from the collective.

Immediately the group went to the General Hospital of the State, where Leticia was transferred under police custody, to receive medical attention, as she had arrived beaten.

Last night, around 10:00 p.m., Leticia was forcibly removed from her home, which was ransacked. Since dawn, a group of family members and members of the group met at the State Justice Prosecutor's Office to file the corresponding complaint and request that the investigations and search begin immediately.

Leticia's son, Alick Alfredo Rousse Álvarez, disappeared on October 27, 2020 and less than a month later, on August 17, her husband Julián Francisco Castillo Félix also disappeared.

Since then, she joined the group of mothers and, according to Ceci Patricia Flores, she has tirelessly participated in the search, being an important part in the discovery of dozens of bodies of missing persons.

The Mothers Seekers of Sonora thanked the collaboration and support of the general public, as they affirmed that thanks to her efforts and her social pressure, her companion was released alive.

“Thanks to God and to all the people who supported us. After hours of tireless fighting, Leticia returns home safely, beaten, but she is alive.

It is a great blessing. Many thanks to all the people who were aware of us and the search for our colleague Leticia Álvarez in these long hours. She is already with her family, thank God. We will continue to search with our hearts ”, they posted on social networks.

Leticia is the second member of Madres Buscadoras de Sonora who is abducted for looking for her family, in July 2021 Aranza Ramos was 'anducted' and murdered in Guaymas, where she was looking for her husband.

After being released, the collective leader Leticia Álvarez is hospitalized.

In an interview with Víctor Hugo Miguel, for MILENIO Televisión, Cecilia Flores reported that Leticia Álvarez is hospitalized after the beatings she received during her disappearance.

"Why are they against us when there are other groups in the states in which they have not suffered any aggression in any way, physically or verbally? Therefore we ask why only this group, What sensitive matters did we step on?" She questioned.

Flores said that after her displacement and the recent case of Álvarez, the morale of the other members has declined, some even find themselves with depression.

  1. The trauma that these people are enduring, it's understandable that they feel impotent and defeated, added to the lack of social services and supports, I hope they find some resemblances of peace in their lives.

  2. You will be able to find more dead bodies on the outskirts of Puerto Penasco,Sonora near the original site where 62 bodies were previously found. Mayo has ruled that area for long time. Mencho making moves to take over now. Will be a blood bath.

  3. Police and soldiers hide their murder victims, criminals usually do not.
--Peoples Militias are badly needed instead of Mother Seekers, police or melitary, it worked for MAO, Fidel, Chavez, Maduro, Ortega, the taliban, at very little expense, no benefits.
