In Operation Fisher, 57 people (47 men and 10 women) have been apprehended so far and 38 vehicles and a dozen firearms have been seized along with nearly $10 million. |
Panamanian authorities reported Thursday that they seized nearly $10 million in cash belonging to the Clan del Golfo, a Colombian drug trafficking organization with tentacles abroad. The money was hidden in a home located in a remote area of the Caribbean province of Colón, they added.
The seizure was part of an operation called "Operation Fisher" that also led to the capture of 57 people in Panama who served as logistical support to the Clan del Golfo. It is the most recent action against collaborators of the criminal group in Panama after the capture of its top leader in Colombia. The detainees, including nine officials, five of them from the security forces, are accused of trafficking, money laundering, and criminal association.
The attorney general's office said Thursday night that the First Drug Prosecutor's Office, the National Police, and the National Air Naval Service seized $9,997,690 in cash hidden in three places from a residence in the New Providence district, in the Caribbean province of Colón.
"This large sum of money belongs to the dismantled criminal organization that worked with the criminal group known as Clan del Golfo," the attorney general's office said in a statement. The cash was found in bundles of denominations of $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100.
The public ministry said that the operation arose from an investigation initiated in February 2020 in the Superior Prosecutor's Office specialized in Drug-Related Crimes to dismantle a criminal organization linked to the Clan del Golfo that used the Panamanian Caribbean coast to receive, store, guard, and transporting large quantities of drugs from Colombia and which were also dedicated to money laundering.
The drug shipments were later dispatched by means of double-bottomed vehicles through the national territory and then transported by speedboats to Central America to their final destination, the United States. The group also tried to introduce large sums of money into the banking system.
According to the drug prosecutor's office, the group was linked to the seizure of more than a ton of drugs during the investigations. The Clan del Golfo operates in an area of the Caribbean near the border of Colombia and Panama. Previously, the Panamanian authorities captured some of the leaders of that organization, which they later extradited to the United States.
At the end of October, as reported by Borderland Beat, Colombia arrested its top leader, Dairo Antonio Úsuga, who according to Panamanian authorities is responsible for the more than 300 tons of cocaine seized in the last three years in various countries. Panama and Colombia are studying establishing a binational border post in Cabo Tiburon to reinforce the fight against drug trafficking.

Way before Manuel Noriega and and offshore banking, there was in existence a structure known as the Panama canal. But way before that trade route was sorted out there was an ancient yard land whose trading post brought forth a God to be born. If you don't know because I know you don't believe i'll tell you His name. Jesus. And so now in modern time in a new world they all come to the America to witness Jesus and what it is about. They don't know whether to go or come. But like Jesus was brought to this new land Jesus will also be taken back to an old world order. Just to hang'Em all out in front of'em. Porque asi es el show.
ReplyDeleteDairo Antonio Úsuga snitched 😄 Jk. Sorry had to get that out of my system 🤣 In all actuality though top capos nowadays will do almost anything to avoid ending up doing double digit numbers in a U.S prison. So it's not too far out the realm of possibility. Crazy how some of these top narcos and narco juniors who've pushed hundreds and thousands of tons into the U.S get 5 to 15 years and the Tyrone's and Jamal's, get life sentences in Federal Prison for couple ounces of crack. I've seen it firsthand. The U.S justice system is a fucking joke. 😒
ReplyDeleteJames Bond your such a kid using emojis.
DeleteHe is a Reddit kid.
DeleteIf you only knew Mr. Anonymous
DeleteTo be 💯 using anonymity on this site is actually childish. What's softer than a keyboard warrior you ask .... An anonymous keyboard warrior👌

Delete@11:12am It's "Sesame" not Sasame. If your gonna attempt an insult atleast make you don't sound childish plus illiterate yourself for not knowing how to spell.Lol. @11:11am thanks bro. I see my comment got completely ignored when I was just speaking about how you get a mandatory minimum of 5 years in the Federal Prison system for 5 grams of meth or crack but a big dog from Mexico who's had a $5,000,000 U.S bounty on his head and had pushed literally metric tons in the U.S can get damn near the same sentence cause they snitched. It's really unbelievable. And theres plenty of street dudes from the U.S who will take their lick and keep their mouth shut while a boss in Mexico snitches cause he can't handle the time in a U.S prison. Yeah you might not get conjugal visits and be allowed to throw lavish parties in your unit but it really isn't that bad(I'm speaking from experience). U.S hustlers in the streets are always afraid to rat on Mexican(cartel associated) plugs because they think their families will be tortured and killed over it, but yet at the same time the ones who are at the top of the food chain are dropping dimes left and right with no shame whatsoever. Most of,if not all of Mayos kid's snitched when they got extradited to the U.S, but I hear if you even mention one of them being a rat in Sinaloa your ass is dead. Just goes to show how much of a joke this street code shit is. But back to my original comment yes I think Otoniel will( if he hasn't started already) telling on everyone and their mama, do 15 years max and get relocated in the Witness Protection Program here in this backwards ass country we call United States. SMH (btw @ 10:21 its "childish" not "childest" tonto! I don't want to disrespect my raza by calling you what you sound like so I'll just keep it pushing ✌️)
Delete*"make sure" not "make you"( realized my typo on the 2nd sentence and didn't proofread)
DeleteI don't read no comment filled with a lot of emojis, that is true to be young childest behavior.
