"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat
Former cocaine smuggler Pieter Tritton speaks to Insider about his experience and how cocaine smuggling works.
Pieter began his journey as a small time drug dealer in the U.K. He says that the illegal rave scene in the U.K. and lack of funding as a university student drove him to sell drugs on a larger scale. Pieter’s operation eventually supplied many big time dealers in the U.K.
He then began importing cocaine from Ecuador to Europe through a cartel connection. Pieter was arrested in Ecuador and sentenced to 12 years in one of the worlds most violent and corrupt prisons.
He now works as a public speaker on the dangers of drugs, and also presents a show on local radio station “incapable staircase” every Friday from 4-5 pm GMT.
Good video... different perspective than Mexican cartel... should make fir a good limited Netflix series

ReplyDeleteThis dude Pete was an old mate of mine lol. Nice Pete, as opposed to Fucked Pete, we knew him as. Saw him in Tesco in Stroud a couple weeks ago, there was a dude honking in the aisles like he was sneezing, he reckoned it was a donkey. He never asked for the money I owed him from years back, or why I was using crutches, and I never mentioned his time in central America, or the fact I'd seen him on Youtube since I got back home. Weird...
