The following is a direct translation of an article originally written by journalist Alfredo Maza for the newspaper El Sol de Mexico.
The Attorney General's Office (FGR) extradited Nahúm Abraham Sicairos Montalvo, alias "El Quinceañero," the financial operator of Dámaso López Serrano, alias "El Mini Lic," the former head of the Sinaloa Cartel, to US authorities.
According to the agency headed by prosecutor Alejandro Gertz Manero, the extradition was approved because the Federal District Court for the Southern District of California requested Sicairos Montalv for his probable responsibility in the crimes of criminal association and against health (drug charges).
“Nahúm [Sicairos Montalvo] was a member of a criminal group that, between the years of 2005 and 2016, was responsible for importing large quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin to the United States of America," they said through a statement.
For this reason, the Mexican government granted the extradition, which was handled at the Toluca City International Airport, State of Mexico, by U.S. agents designated for his transfer to that country.

Sicairos Montalvo was arrested on July 17, 2017 by elements of the then Special Investigation Agency of the Attorney General's Office (PGR), due to the fact that he had an arrest and extradition warrant issued by the U.S. government against him.
His arrest occurred just four days after "El Mini Lic" turned himself in to US authorities to testify against the criminal organization and receive a lesser sentence.
“El Mini Lic" is the son of the famous drug lord Dámaso López Núñez "El Licenciado", one of the main leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel and of the criminal group known as "Los Dámaso", who was considered to be the successor of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán after his arrest.
However, this did not happen because of the group known as "Los Chapitos", led by Ivan Archivaldo and Jesus Alfredo, Guzman's son, prevented him from doing so.
Then, the sudden arrest of "El Licenciado" in 2017 and the subsequent surrender of "El Mini Lic" to the United States caused the search for Nahúm to intensify until he was extradited today, despite the fact that he sought to avoid his surrender through various amparos.
