A judge in Administrative matters of Mexico City has determined to deny the amparo to remove the blocking of the bank accounts of Esperanza García Luna, sister of Genaro García Luna.
The judge's determination was made on the basis that García Luna's sister only requested the unlocking of her bank accounts and not the challenge of their inclusion in the list of blocked persons, a situation in which she somehow accepted the measure imposed by the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).
The decision to dismiss the judge implies that Esperanza García Luna, like ten other people related to the former Secretary of Public Security in Felipe Calderón Hinojosa's six-year term, including Cristina Pereyra Gálvez, Genaro García's wife, will remain prevented from using the national banking system.
The measure of freezing accounts against relatives of the former official was filed since 2019.
A step in the right direction. Yet more blankets need to be removed from many others who have profited from corruption past & present.
ReplyDeleteThis guy holds more responsibility than anyone else for what's going on in Mexico. Probably the reason why his countrymen are turning their backs and letting him have it. If you think about it, his actions have had a devastating ripple effect. The cartel geography was basically east and west, gulf and pacific. When this guy sided with the Pacific, his actions caused every cartel to splinter. The Gulf/ Zetas are a bunch of splintered cells now along with every "cartel" that splintered from the Pacific alliance. Garcia Luna deserves life in prison plus an eternity in hell.

They might make an axample of him so people dont look at the incompetent narco presidents and narco governors of mexico.
The same system is in place so nothing will change, mexico is just getting worse
