"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat
Following the arrest of Brian Salgueiro Zepeda, alias 'El 90', son of El Flaco Salgueiro, he was airlifted to the state of Chihuahua.
Brian Salgueiro Zepeda, alias 'El 90', son of El Flaco Salgueiro, was arrested this Friday, February 18 in the afternoon in a movie-type operation in the city of Culiacán, Sinaloa, when a baptismal mass was being celebrated in the church of Father "Cuco", on Xicoténcatl Avenue, in the Las Quintas neighborhood.
After the quick arrest, the detainees were taken to the Culiacán International Airport, where more federal elements were already waiting for them under a strong security device.
They took off in a Beech B300 type aircraft, Super King Air 350, of the Mexican Air Force. In this, they were taken from Sinaloa territory bound for the northern part of the country.
It transpired that it was a detention operation orchestrated by the US government.
So far, no State or Federal Government authority has provided information on this special operation.
El Brian is considered by the Chihuahua authorities as one of the main generators of violence in the southern part of that entity.
Along with Brian Salgueiro, two other men were arrested, apparently his bodyguards.

ReplyDeleteThe USA cannot have law enforcement personel in Mexico
There's been rumors in the past of US law personnel being parts of operations in secret but more so the language of the Spanish source is vague enough to allow for the operation to be conducted at the behalf of the US.
DeletePlus I wouldn't put too much stock in this as it's treated in passing as a rumor and there is a lot of confusion in reporting currently with many stating El 90 is the son of José Salgueiro Nevarez, El Che and others saying he is the son of El Flaco.
No it can't. But still USA can be orchestrating these raids.
DeleteNo weapons allowed to be carried on US officers on Mexico soil but they can be with mexican authorities there too.
If they did it in Colombia...they can do it anywhere they want
DeleteBut they can have advisors overseeing the operation.
DeleteColombia is completely different than Mexico legally and geopolitically speaking.
Delete4:11 WTF MEXICO is a lawless country. All the things that the cartels vis illegal.
