Two armed attacks at funerals carried out in homes in Ciudad Juárez have left at least six dead and eight people injured.The first attack occurred early this Saturday, in the Luis Echeverría neighborhood, where a family home was watching over a man who was executed last Wednesday, when armed men interrupted and began shooting.
In this attack it was reported that two people were killed and two more were injured. Today morning it was reported unofficially that one of the injured had already died; however, the version has not been confirmed yet. The events occurred minutes after midnight today, at the intersection of Valentín Gómez Farias and Francisco Javier Mujica, from the Luis Echeverria neighborhood. So far none of the victims have been identified and the motive for the attack is unknown.
Another armed attack at a funeral occurred minutes before 2:00 p.m. this Saturday at a temple on Isla Singanpur and Isla Givan streets in the 16 de Septiembre neighborhood. According to the first reports, the attack occurred in a house that had been converted into a temple and where a funeral was taking place. So far, at least six people have been reported injured and four dead.People were left lifeless inside the house, without being identified.
In both attacks, a strong security device was implemented by elements of the Municipal Public Security Secretariat (SSPM), the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) and the National Guard (GN). So far, authorities have not confirmed whether it is the same funeral that took place at dawn today or if it is a different attack. In addition to these events, another man was executed in that border city in the Juárez neighborhood on Saturday morning.

DeleteMore than likely it was the Wake (a Velorio). It's commonin Mexican culture to have the Wake all night untill the burial, with with no pause in between.
