"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat
They were all former police officers, they betrayed the Juárez Cartel to join the Sinaloa Cartel and then turned their backs on Chapo Guzmán; They will spend up to 40 years in prison
The Federal Court of the Western District of Texas sentenced three drug traffickers who were associates of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, the founder of the Sinaloa Cartel (CDS) and is now serving a life sentence in the United States. They are Mario Núñez Meza, aka El M10, sentenced to 40 years in prison; Fernando Arellano Romero, nicknamed El Rayo, who will spend 17 years in jail; and David Sánchez Hernández, better known as El Christian, who will serve 20 years.
It should be noted that El M10 was one of Chapo's most important lieutenants in Chihuahua and Durango, where he founded his own criminal organization called Gente Nueva, which was dedicated to exterminating the assassins of the Juárez Cartel.
The three criminals worked for the Mexican police, then joined the Juárez Cartel, which they betrayed to join the Sinaloa Cartel with Chapo Guzmán. These subjects are part of a group of 24 people included in an judgement that was submitted to the Texas Court in 2012, headed by Joaquín Guzmán Loera and Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada.
El M10 was an ally of Antonio Flores Marrufo, known as El Jaguar, with whom he terrorized the border between Mexico and the United States. By the way, in the next few days Flores Marrufo will also hear what his sentence is. Within the investigations carried out by the US authorities, it emerged that El M10 and El Jaguar murdered more than 350 people who were buried in clandestine graves in Durango, a state that, together with Sinaloa and Chihuahua, forms part of the so-called "golden triangle", one of the the most important areas for drug cartels in Mexico.
El M10 was loyal only to himself, after betraying the Juárez Cartel, he also turned his back on the Sinaloa Cartel, in 2011 he formed his own criminal group with his brother Amado. They trafficked cocaine packed with the image of the Memín Pinguín character.
God needs to pay attention to Chapo Guzman and he needs to help him to get his freedom back.
