"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat
They say that he was the link between the drug cartels and the political class; they relate him to a mayor, a governor and a former governor who was a fugitive and has already been arrested
They execute a drug dealer who was a DEA informant in a Mexican prison.
In a prison in Altamira, Tamaulipas, a drug trafficker identified as César Eduardo García Martínez, alias "El Pollo", an operator for the Zetas that now serves as the Northeast Cartel (CDN), was executed. El Pollo was a ministerial police officer, then left the corporation to join the Gulf Cartel (CDG) and in 2012 turned himself in to the United States authorities, where he became an informant for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). García Martínez has been singled out for being the link between drug trafficking on the border and the political class.
Mexican media reported that El Pollo was found dead in his cell with a bullet wound to his forehead and traces of torture all over his body. The local Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation and has already begun with the interrogation of personnel at the Altamira prison and some inmates.
Alleged political ties
César Eduardo García Martínez served as a link between the Gulf Cartel and Tomás Yarrington, who was governor of Tamaulipas, between 1999 and 2004. In 2012 he turned himself in to the US justice, was a DEA informant and then fled to Mexico, upon returning he joined the Zetas.
In addition, the Tamaulipas media have published versions of his alleged links with the mayor of Nuevo Laredo, Carmen Lilia Canturosas, who is a member of the Morena political party, the party of the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador. They also say that he was allegedly related to the current governor of Tamaulipas, Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca.
Why was he in the Altamira prison?
In 2019 he was arrested in Mexico for the crimes of kidnapping, extortion and criminal association. The Tamaulipas Attorney General's Office offered a reward of 200 thousand dollars for his capture, but he was arrested thanks to intelligence work.
Let me see he was executed in USA or Mexician prison? Says he turned himself in to USA, therefore got killed in USA how strange.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you actually read the article.you think he got tortured and shot in a u.s jail
DeleteHe tuned himself in but never jailed because he cooperated, he was the arrested in Mexico for different crimes, he was killed in a prison in Mexico
DeleteHalf way down it says he became an informant then fled to Mexico.
ReplyDeleteIf he became an informant, why would he flee to Mexico, damned his brain was not thinking.
Delete@ 8:21 more than likely he got played by the Feds. Interrogated and punked. Then they turned around and ratted him out to his criminal cohorts.
DeleteIf I am not mistaken didn't El Chino flee from San Diego to MX were he and his sister and brother in law were executed within hours of his fleeing the US.Even though most captured cartel members all sing like canaries when they are arrested.
DeleteGood riddance.
