El Jaguar, "the Ex Plaza boss" for El Chapo "was sentenced for conducting the affairs of a company with a pattern of organized crime activity.
José Antonio Torres Marrufo, Alias "El Jaguar", the Ex Plaza boss for "El Chapo" Guzmán, in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, was sentenced to 40 years in prison by a judge in the Western District Court of Texas, for conspiracy charges, conducting the affairs of a company with a pattern of organized crime activity, conspiracy to assassinate in a foreign country, and for being a compliance with kidnapping.
He also must pay a fine of 100 thousand dollars once he leaves prison, be supervised for a period of at least 5 years. According to the US judicial documents consulted by the Aztec Information Force (FIA), if the United States deportation is ordered, the defendant must remain outside that country and if he returns, be held at the nearest parole office within the first 72 hours of his return.
The Court recommended to the Federal Prison Agency of the United States Department of Justice, that the defendant fulfill his sentence in the Federal Correctional of Tucson, Arizona, a medium security prison or its equivalent in Phoenix.
Torres Marrufo was arrested on February 3, 2012 in León, Guanajuato, on May 2019, he was extradited from Mexico to the United States.
In April 2012, "El Jaguar" was included in the same formal accusation made by a federal jury against Joaquín Guzmán Loera, alias "El Chapo", Ismael Zambada García, alias "Mayo", and another 21 people responsible for operations and the management of the Sinaloa cartel, accusing them of violating the RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) law.
