Querétaro vs. Atlas
Saturday evening, March 5, 2022. Among the games being held during Matchday 9 of the Mexican professional soccer league is Querétaro, hosting the match at their Corregidora Stadium, against Atlas. At the 29 minute mark Atlas, also known as Los Zorros, scores against the Gallos Blancos (White Roosters), as Querétaro is called.
The two teams have a bitter rivalry that dates back to April 29, 2007, when Querétaro found themselves needing a win on their final match of the season to avoid relegation, that is being demoted to the secondary league while the best team in the secondary league would take their place in the premier league the following season.
All Querétaro had to do was win the match against Atlas, who was hosting the game at their home stadium in Guadalajara, Jalisco, but that would not be the case. Following Querétaro’s defeat, their barra brava, a soccer fan organization, known as La Resistencia Albiazul clashed with Barra 51, the barra brava of Atlas, outside the stadium leaving several people injured.
Over the years violent confrontations between La Resistencia and Barra 51 would occur off and on, the latest of which had been in November 2021 when a Querétaro fan died in the fighting against Atlas fans in Guadalajara.
The risk of violence is such on March 5, 2022 that fans are separated in the stands by barbed wire fences and gates. At 7:24 PM, at the 60 minute mark, Atlas takes possession of the ball. Chaos erupts.

Two Teams, Two Cartel Connections
Over the years both of these soccer teams have been in the public spotlight due to alleged connections to cartel figures in Mexico.
Tirso Martínez Sánchez, alias “El Doctor”, a member of the Sinaloa Cartel who was arrested in 2014 and would go on to testify against Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, earned the alias “El Futbolista” due in part to his purchases of soccer teams, which he used to launder cartel money, as previously reported by Borderland Beat.
Among the teams he bought was La Piedad, in Michoacán, which he moved to Querétaro in 2002. It was alleged that members of the team, and other teams owned by El Doctor, were paid in stacks of $100 bills.
As for Atlas, their star player and captain from 2015-2018 was Rafael Márquez Álvarez, who was among the 22 Mexican citizens listed by the United States Department of Treasury on accusations of ties to Raúl Flores Hernández, alias “El Tío”, an independent drug trafficker that was tied to both the Sinaloa Cartel and the New Generation Jalisco Cartel (CJNG), as previously reported by Borderland Beat, although Márquez would deny this to be the case.
The Alleged CJNG Factor
The violence that took place on Saturday could easily be seen as an escalation of conflicts between La Resistencia Albiazul and Barra 51, a tragedy stemming from out of control soccer fans.
Yet there is another angle that has quietly made the news. In an interview with Reforma, one of the injured fans claims that amongst the people attending the game was an individual known as “El Beto”/”El Betito”, leader of a fuel theft (huachicolero) organization based out of San Juan del Río, Querétaro, who is rumored to have had ties to the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel (CSRDL), and members of his group.
“He brought his sicarios, the people that he uses to rob fuel and liquified petroleum gas, they participated in the beatings”.
It is also alleged that a mysterious figure known as “El Herón”, who is either a member or affiliate of the New Generation Jalisco Cartel (Cártel de Jalisco Nueva Generación, CJNG) was also at the game.
“Everything was because of these two; they saw each other, they brought their gangs and did it with them, everything else was just a gift”.
In the days following the riot, the following video began the subject of attention:

It is being alleged that, based upon the voice and a glimpse of a tattoo, the individual who appears throughout this video wearing shorts, a sweatshirt, and green hat is an individual known as "El Gordo", a subordinate of "El Beto" and known Querétaro soccer fan.
Furthermore, another line of investigation indicates that Barra 51 had CJNG members in its ranks, specifically individuals who had worked under Salvador Reséndiz Hernández, alias "El Rex", who was arrested in October 2021.
El Rex was a leader of a huachicolero organization, known as Los Hades, which which was formed in 2018 and was also known as Cartel de Las Palmillas. Los Hades operated in Querétaro, Hidalgo and México, where in addition to fuel theft, they were involved in kidnappings, drug trafficking, and drug sales at a retail level.
While the links between Los Hades and the CJNG are unclear, El Rex signed narco messages under their name starting in 2020, indicating some level of affiliation. It is also worth noting that Los Hades had a bitter dispute with "El Beto" for control of fuel theft in San Juan del Río, Querétaro.

Yes Anonanus
DeleteBilly Jean they correct your ass and you end up crying like a baby.😂
DeleteWhatever you say anonanus
DeleteBelly Jean's twat hath spoken, but I care more about a rat's Ass than soccer, and I am more mexican than tortillas.
DeletePlease don't involve all "mexicans" in your cheap BS.
They were beaten badly
ReplyDeleteThey even left a few naked and even took their shoes off
Yeah, the ones that did that weren't no ordinary soccer fans. Usually cartel mfs do that.
DeleteSoccer Fans Lives Matter!

Wow...Was this a rap concert? Oh no,just another day on the soccer field huh rambo.
DeleteBe Like Mike.
There's was a bunch of dead
ReplyDeleteAt first there was idk how many dead. Now there's none. Something doesn't seem correct. But the government wouldn't lie!!! No chance!!! I can't see them doing any cover ups. Santa Claus and the tooth fairy wouldn't bring them no presents if they did and I can't see them jeopardizing that🤔.
Delete5:20 governor Kuri would not lie, much like serial rapist Jean succar Kuri would not rape, must be related criminals, oy?
DeleteMexico is doomed.
ReplyDeleteYa got that right Mr. manta
Delete5:15 the British Barras or other european barras have not doomed their countries with their violence...
DeleteWhy would a mexican couple of Garras would doom Mexico in the opinion of a bestia like you?
Wow. Truly disgusting. Fucken savages.
ReplyDeleteIf nobody died it wasn't from lack of effort.
ReplyDeleteRead the article, see the videos of dead bodies at the stadium, then ask if people died.
Delete@741 just because they are laying on the floor motionless in a 30 second clip video doesn't necessarily mean they are dead. You really would have needed to be there and witness it for yourself to make that call.
DeleteThere are numerous witnesses that have said there were deaths. People getting stabbed in the head with ice picks, getting their heads bashed with 7 lb steel pole holders etc... this was similar to a prison riot/fight between rivals, where inflicting death, serious damage was the goal
Delete9:11 kiss my grits.
Delete8:37 sherap went fart.
DeleteThe locals say at least 30 dead, most remove their Atlas shirts to escape the scum home fans..the Gov are liars !
ReplyDeleteThis savagery goes back since the Aztecs & Spanish with their tribalism & primitive ways. A Mexican killing another Mexican for a sport. How the fuck do you cure that. I say death penalty for violent offenders like the Philippines.
ReplyDeleteLobo
DeleteBut lazy butt Obrador does not believe in that.
8:41am You're right. I believe Amlo has good intentions, but he's too soft for Mexicos' terrible problems. Can't fight evil with kindness.
Delete10:53 Lousy dogs should have no opinions, the Philipines drug addicted president rodrigo duterte is getting people murdered for looking like drug addicts, not for their violence.
DeleteYou need to stop doing your own crack from your own shit yourself...
Seriously though.
ReplyDeleteWTF IS UP WITH MEXICANS.
This is anger and some other things. But definitely comes out very natural which is bad.
Rubio NYC
Panty boy
DeleteIt wasn't always like that, try to keep that in mind. The cartel shit might've tainted society some, but I do think there was some cartel element involved. And don't group all Mexicans in the same catagory as far as when it comes to this type of sh@#! If that's how it was you wouldn't have heard people in the video telling them that that was it, to stop it, that that was enough, to leave them alone, etc.
DeleteRubio? Nomás porque te pintas las greñas del fundillo pinchi pelón sopla-pingas.
Delete....remind me , never travel to Mexico. Jesus.
ReplyDeleteWhere did Jesus got killed ? Was it in Mexico ?
DeleteWhat happened in Vegas during a concert a few years back. What about Florida at a gay bar ? What about at a McDonalds in San Diego long ago ? Yeah. The world is dangerous. We should live under a rock to be safe.
Piasza
DeleteWhat you fail to see that Mexico tops #1 in Homicides in the world, in 2021 35,000 then some in here say some go unreported to triple it. No one can top the high yearly murder rate of Mexico.
Anon 8:39 am. Would that be a relief to those who got murder during those events in the places I mention? Would it help to say Mexico is more dangerous? I have friends and relatives in Mexico who live there and nothing has happened to them. Actually my God father was killed in the 90s during a robbery but a few friends of mine got killed here just because they were confused to be gang members. But it’s cool. We still go back and forth between Mexico and USA.
DeleteFucking savagery man. Paisa, don't flex on Juan Rambo.
Delete8:39 From my understanding it was a little under 31,000. Still high but 4,000 less. I'ma look into it and see what happens.
DeletePaisa stop the BS..Big diff between visiting Mex and the US. Yes ppl get shot here by the minute but in Mex it's multiple ppl by the minute and you might get chopped up or put in a tub of acid and while even these things happen here it's Rare..Here in the US we sure don't have to worry about drones dropping bombs, not yet anyway.
DeleteI also know truth hurts so I understand you being defensive about the situation in Mex but face it some parts of this planet are way more dangerous than others and right now,today,3/8/22 Mexico it at the top or very close to it.
Nobody is trying to kill mexican congress members yet...
DeleteBut on the US, even vice president Pence was a target of its lame duck now Unpresidented Disgrace and his mob of now singing proud boys and Oath Keepers, shit is flying all over
100% cartel related violence. When I say their wiener and asses laying down heated up badly or even dead. Cartel love them dead naked bodies. Do they get turn on?
ReplyDeleteDidn’t the USA military played with naked prisoners in Abu Ghraib ? You guys are the ones teaching everyone else those crazy sick shit. Lol. The good thing is that you guys are civilized people. Pinche manon. Lol.
DeletePiaza gets pleasure from abru
DeleteGrably prisoners naked.
I see you flexing Paisa....good chest shot lol
DeleteThe US rescued and saved nazi rat line escapee Klaus Barbie and shipped his ass to south america where he trained CIA and their puppets on the arts of torturing, mayhem, drug trafficking and money laundering and the School of the Americas took their wisdoms to latin american plutocracies to help keep latin america democratic, and Wise ass Henry Kissinger was there in the thick of it since the start, still gets consulting fees from every US regime, don't blame the aztecs...
DeleteMexicans are animals. Watch National Geographic channels and you see Mexicans acts like chimps.
ReplyDeleteThis is the Mexican descended author of the article you are commenting on being civil and giving you the opportunity to remove your racist generalization and giving you a pass in lieu of fully expressing my opinion of your ignorance.
DeleteHow is it racist? I’m stating in behavioral stand point comparing criminals and our ancestors or chimps. I called republicans who praise Putin invading Ukraine as animals. Is that being racist?
DeleteFUERA! FUERA! FUERA! FUERA! 🖲
DeleteYou already know
DeleteItzli I CANNOT believe you wasted your breath. He already knew
DeleteAnd ong the lame explanation he gives at 3:49 doesn't explain a thing. Lmao
Delete4:59 I do see the point that hotdog is not saying bcorrectly. I myself am Of Mexician decent, brought up with moral values and respect others, therefore I don't consider myself a animal. Hotdog you don't realize how you are stating you do make it look racist.
DeleteMrHotdog how in the hell you say that as if we are the only violent race in the world. You need to read history to see that brutality has nothing to do with race.
DeleteAbout us acting like chimps lol. You most definitely thinking about your relatives.
Wiener dog I hope you can reason and understand, the way you worded it does sound racist. All of us are human beings and all countries and it's people do not behave the same.
DeleteThis Mexican is a tigrr..Ask your mom and sister they'll tell you
DeleteI stated it incorrectly. My bad. I really meant the criminal acting like animals. All criminals exist every corner of this damn filthy earth are animals. People who enjoys killing are animals. My bad!!!!!
DeleteIf it craps it is an animal, but organized crime are anti-social beasts, like some commenters.
DeleteSIR is another one from the middle East, you too did not comprehend the issue at hand, even with a few different comments, reguarding the matter.
DeleteYou too pray to the prifet Abudulah.
Mr. Hotdog
DeleteIt's not just "my Bad".
You talking Ebonics
It's pardon me I made a mistake. or I apologize.
1:41 wrong stupid, looks like you have eaten the hotdogs and are left with just poop for chili beans in your snout.
DeleteSYRIA did not allow the green spring to topple their regime, with foreign help, even with and without ISIS, said by some to be allied with Turkeys and Israel, who bought all the huachicol they could from the Islamic state and battered for supplies,
I am no fan of middle east wars or politics dear.
Forget it Hotdog is an Iranian, he doesn't think like Westerners. They pray 5 times a day to Abudulah.
ReplyDeletelol
Delete1031you crack me up, lol😂😂😂
