Zacatecas, the capital city of the state of the same name, has had five consecutive days in which dismembered human remains have been discovered. In the most recent narco sign that accompanied the remains the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG).
At around 10:00 pm at night, two dismembered corpses appear on Cerro de la Araña Street, in the Colinas del Padre subdivision. They were wrapped in black plastic bags and accompanied by a narco message written on cardboard. So far no details about the content of the message beyond that it was cartel related have been released.
During the early morning hours, residents reported the discovery of a suspicious bag on Sierra de Mazamitla street near the Walmart, in the second section of the Colinas del Padres neighborhood.
When police inspected the bag, they found it contained a torso wrapped in a blanket. Officers collected an accompanying narco message sign that was blown by the wind to a street over. The content of this message was also not released.
Two more bodies were found in Colinas del Padres subdivision of Zacatecas city. One body is submerged in a pool of water and another one, wrapped in blankets, was found on Cumbres Street. This marks the fifth body found in just one subdivision.
Esteemed journalist Héctor De Mauleón writes in El Universal that on Sunday night, the streets of Zacatecas city were empty, making it look almost deserted due to the recent violence. That night, in the middle of the capital city, and especially near the Alma Obrera neighborhood, there were shootouts between hitmen from the CJNG and the Sinaloa Cartel (CDS) and their allies Los Cabreras.
At approximately 7:30 am, two dismembered bodies were discovered in the city of Zacatecas and reported to the emergency phone line. Officers arrived at the La Fayuca flea market near the intersection of Luis Echeverría and Roberto Cabral del Hoyo streets, located within the Gustavo Díaz Ordaz neighborhood of the city.

Officers arrived at the La Fayuca flea market near the intersection of Luis Echeverría and Roberto Cabral del Hoyo streets, located within the Gustavo Díaz Ordaz neighborhood of the city.
The human remains had been placed at multiple locations near the flea market location at some point during the previous night. Black bags were placed in the middle of Cabral del Hoyo street and inside them were the torsos and the appendages of the remains. The remains belonged to a male and a female. A narco message written on a piece of cardboard was left which threatened huachicoleros (oil pipeline thieves), "snitches" and state police.
Two white foam Oxxo ice chests had been placed near the intersection of Pirules street. These contained two human heads and had the letters “CJNG” written on them in black marker. A narco sign was left inside of one, which read as follows:
Zacatecas has only one owner. Get Ready. The terror is about to start.
CJNG
