"El Señorón" Had Allegedly Allied with the Sinaloa Cartel When Arrested

Francisco Javier Rodriguez Hernandez "El Senoron" was arrested in Mazatlan, Sinaloa where he had traveled to and is said to have sought alliances with the Sinaloa Cartel according to the State Public Security Commission of Morelos.

The day after the capture of Rodríguez Hernández, on May 2, the Morelos authorities reported that the criminal target had traveled to the north of the country, where he was arrested, and he made an agreement with the main enemy of the CJNG. However, they did not specify when, since his illicit activities were aligned with the forces of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, El Mencho.

A $500,000 peso reward had been put out for the capture of El Senoron responsible for trafficking and violence in Morelos.

“Thanks to this reward that was offered, he was forced to leave the state and began to look for allies and we know historically that in the Mexican Republic the Sinaloa Cartel has been a very strong cartel that has since been in dispute with the Jalisco Cartel, Nueva Generación, but he chose to ally himself with this criminal group, which is why he went to Sinaloa, specifically Mazatlán, which is where he established his residence there,” José Antonio Ortiz Guarneros, head of the State Public Security Commission, said at a press conference.

After the capture of Francisco Javier Rodríguez Hernández, Frank, XL and/or El Señorón, identified as a lieutenant of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG) in Morelos, the authorities have foreseen that the territory in his domain could be recovered by La Familia Michoacana.

José Antonio Ortiz Guarneros pointed out that more of the same faction will be arrested and, given the vacuum and rearrangements in the criminal structure, their enemies could retake the plaza. The official revealed that last week three members of the Colombian gang were arrested, as well as two alleged criminals from Morelos, who had drug packets with the same Frank and/or XL logo.

La Familia Michoacana has remained in the last decade, despite the displacement from its stronghold in the entity in which it emerged. The Mazatlán Arrest

Excelsior reports that no shots had to be fired in the operation in order to detain El Señorón.

A photo alleged to depict El Señorón in custody is being shared on social media. In the photo, he can be seen standing in the back of an aircraft, flanked on either side by soldiers. He was flown out to the state of Guanajuato and will be presented before a federal judge.

After the fall of Señorón, Alicia Vázquez Luna, Secretary of Security of Cuernavaca, also warned that reprisals could intensify in the capital and they would maintain operations. That is the way in which we are preventing a resurgence of violence to take care of all citizens.

That void was replaced by the CJNG with El Señorón who was known for leading the sale of drugs, but before his foray into organized crime, he allegedly collaborated in the youth networks of the state National Action Party (PAN) from 2012 to 2015.
