The bodies of three men were found with gunshot wounds on a highway in the municipality of Tomatlán, on the northern coast of Jalisco.
Municipal police officers went to Federal Highway 200 at the crossroads of the highway that leads to the community of San Rafael de los Morenos, to verify a report that three people were lying in the area. Upon arrival they confirmed that three men were dead and with several bullet wounds.
The officers cordoned off the area to preserve the evidence and notified the personnel of the State Prosecutor's Office and the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences so that they could take charge of the investigations of the case.
Data from the State Prosecutor's Office indicate that from March 1, 2021 to date there have been 13 intentional homicides in Tomatlan, of which three of them occurred in the municipal capital, the rest were recorded in different communities.
