Ameca, Jalisco Police Chief Removed From His Post For Alleged Ties To CJNG

 "Ivan" for Borderland Beat

The municipal president of Ameca, Jalisco, Juan Valentín Serrano Jiménez, announced that he had removed Severo Flores Mendoza, the municipal police chief of the municipality, from his post, who was reported by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Department of Treasury and Justice for alleged ties to the Jalisco Cartel - New Generation (CJNG).

He indicated that Severo Flores will remain suspended from his duties until the situation is clarified. On Thursday, OFAC issued a statement in which it included the Ameca police chief on its blacklist.

The president of the municipality published a spoken video on the matter, where he said he was surprised by the accusations against Severo Flores, since the numbers and statistics in terms of security "were acceptable compared to other regions"; however, he communicated his decision to remove him from his position.

"With the firm objective that these accusations are clarified and the security of the municipality of Ameca is not compromised by questioning, I have taken the decision to remove the municipal commissioner from his position to facilitate the possible investigations that may arise to be carried out objectively and with total freedom," he said.

"However, the governance of the municipality is a priority and is above any public servant, so it demands an immediate response from a public servant," he explained.

The mayor advanced that he will seek federal and state support to elect a new police command.

"I will request the support of state and federal authorities to have their support in the selection of who will head the Municipal Police Station, meanwhile, rest assured that we will continue working to ensure the welfare of the citizens of Ameca," he concluded.

  1. It's not like the municipal president doesn't work for CJNG also...In that area of Jalisco if you don't work for them, you're dead.

On the US they are taxing with "too Smart Metters", soon to start metering your air consumption because City Hall can't live within their means, support police in the way police has got used to live, (without having to deliver shit to society, unless some Boy Scout wants to play hero) and return rnoney making opportunities to their lobbyists, buddies and friends

  3. Nothing new. They are temporary removed but not arrested. Eventually still working on a government position. But hey, it happened here in the USA as well.

    7. 2:47 I've been to many places in Mexico and I would say Sonora, Durango and sinaloa have a really bad drug problem from kids to adults. Michoacan has their junkies as well but nothing compared to those states i just mentioned.

When la familia michoacana was running michoacan they banned meth sales in the state. Just a FYI

  7. I know this guy. He was part of the Union Ganadera in the Southern Part of Jalisco. Seemed like a normal guy and never really came off as being involved in that business. But let me tell you this, the smart ones never let off a single hint of being involved in that. But honestly, I’m those positions, what other choice do you have. You either do it, step down or die. Those are the only options.
