New details are emerging on how Gonzalo Lopez was able to escape from Texas corrections officers who are now reeling following the murder of a family of five at the hands of an inmate under their watch.
In an interview with NewsNation, Texas State Sen. John Whitmire said, “it’s a high, high possibility” that Gonzalo Lopez’s escape from a prison bus was an inside job.

Delete@1:44 I'm not amazed that he unshackled himself. I'm stupified as to why he didn't get shot. Maybe because it was a state transport bus. Not quite the same thing as a federal bus.
DeleteI rode the federal bus. Chase cars front and back. Two cages in the bus, again front and back. A guard in each cage with a riot gun. Now and then the convoy would stop and the guards in the bus would swap out with the guards in the chase cars.
