Agents of the State Prosecutor's Office and experts from the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences recovered 15 bags with human remains and a skeleton in a clandestine grave in the municipality of El Salto.
The discovery occurred on the road to San Miguel next to an abandoned event hall and less than 900 meters from the entrance to the municipal capital of El Salto.
Sources from the State Prosecutor's Office indicated that the search was carried out due to the suspicion that human remains were buried at the site.
During the work, the agents of the Prosecutor's Office requested the intervention of heavy machinery to carry out the excavations.
The sources consulted indicated that at the end of the work they recovered 15 black plastic bags with human fragments and a skeleton.
The remains were taken to the Forensic Medical Service where they will undergo the corresponding studies for their possible identification. Data from the State Prosecutor's Office indicate that as of July 6, 2007, 27 clandestine graves with 180 victims had been located in Jalisco, of which 67 have been identified.
