Ensenada, Baja California: Authorities Reinforce Intelligence Strategies Following "Atypical" Homicides

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

Following"events that were considered out of the ordinary, atypical" in terms of homicides, the attorney general in Baja California, Ricardo Iván Carpio, assured that investigation and intelligence activities were reinforced in the city of Ensenada by elements of special groups from the State Investigation Agency.

"We are making ourselves present here in Ensenada, we are reinforcing the investigation and intelligence activities with elements of special groups from the State Investigation Agency that are developing various investigative acts, in support of the contingency presented in Ensenada," declared the prosecutor.

He referred to such events as the murder of six people inside a house in the Chapultepec delegation at the beginning of the month, as well as the murder of two people - a third died days later in the hospital - at a Sangrias alcoholic beverage stand in the Valle de Guadalupe, with collateral victims included.

Carpio Sánchez highlighted the reduction of almost 50 percent in homicides comparing the year of 2022 with 2021.

The drop in this period was due, precisely, to intelligence actions that made it possible to identify the people responsible for the propagation of crimes and violence, particularly in the eastern part of the municipality, he pointed out.

These actions, he insisted, also allowed the execution of various strategic searches; the response of those who were not detained was to withdraw, which allowed for a state of tranquility, he considered.

  1. I'm not sure I would call the murder of 6 people in Ensenada atypical. I remember when they killed 12 people in a family compound just outside of Ensenada, to include young children. They took everyone out into the parking lot and shot everyone. A young girl hid in a closet and survived or it would have been 13 killed.

  2. I just looked it up. Apparently is was 19 people killed to include 5 children in a rancho outside of Ensenada. According to the article, ICE arrested a suspect 10 years later while he was taking out the trash.

  3. Sol I seen a video on reddit with some guy driving with a crocodile in the passenger seat. I don’t know if it’s new or old and reposted.
I was wondering if you could post it on here and translate what the guy said.

That cartoons came out in the 80s.
If it was to be run now, they would consider it racist.

    5. Speedy Gonzalez goes back at least to the 60's. Pat Boone actually recorded a song called Speedy Gonzalez and got sued over it.

  5. Beheading and cutting up bodies has faded.
The new norm is explosive devices, booby trapped to explode, when crime investigators come they will get killed.

  6. All bullshit, saw two helicopters land on the Corredor Tijuana-Rosarito 2000 highway with National Guard and Marines watching yesterday. Unloaded into 10 trucks and left towards Tijuana in front of dozens of onlookers. They are only there to protect who pays and go after who doesn't.
